Someone better tell Roberts that Defoe, Cole , Chamberlain, Johnson, Walcott, Young & Welbeck are in the squad.as wrote:According to Jason Roberts it's because Rio is black, well, he's not got the sack to openly say it but he's hinting at that. Does he ever fecking stop?!
Dear Jason
We know you're black, but ffs pack it in, you are not Reverend Al Sharpton.....and judging by your TV appearances, you'd have got nowherer near those MOTD sofa's if you were white.

Right.
There is no way Ferdinand isn't being picked 'coz e is black', so Sol can keep his caps.
It does seem everyone seems very keen to skirt around the issue though. It seems infeasible to me that Ferdinand isn't being picked for 'football reasons'. Martin Kelly? Come on. Quite clearly people around the England set up think they can't have Ferdinand and Terry. I don't see the problem with admitting that. Politically (and possibly legally) they can't. Everyone knows this, so why is it a big deal. Terry is an innocent man. The idea Ferdinand is the one to make way because he is black is ridiculous, just he is the less good of the two now, and it seems we can't have both. So the issue isn't racism, but an alleged racism which is yet to come to trial.

Why can't it just be that Ferdinand is injury prone and that Hodgson wants to look to the future? He's picked Terry as the ageing, injury prone old hand at the back and doesn't feel like he needs another?Prufrock wrote:Right.

Ferdinand is massively overrated anyhow.
Re: Cahill out of the Euros
He is better than Martin fecking Kelly! Ferdinand at his best was brilliant. Top top drawer. Had a decent last six months too. He'll take Rooney who might only play one game but not Ferdinand because he might get injured. Decision to leave him out of the original squad MAY have been footballing (but if it is look to the future why pick Lescott who will never be good enough) but seems very political to me now.

Hodgson clearly has an eye on more than the forthcoming tournament.Prufrock wrote:He is better than Martin fecking Kelly! Ferdinand at his best was brilliant. Top top drawer. Surely tourney's aren't about long termism? Once they're over, you've missed them. You have to play your best team and take your best squad to tourneys.BWFC_Insane wrote:Hodgson clearly has an eye on more than the forthcoming tournament.Prufrock wrote:He is better than Martin fecking Kelly! In general. But perhaps Roy doesn't think we have much of a chance anyways this time round and wants to give squad experience to those who could be a part of the world cup squad?Worthy4England wrote:Surely tourney's aren't about long termism? You've got to try to bloody win something at some point! You sound like Owen bloody Coyle! And it's Martin Kelly ffs. A semi-shite right back who CAN play centre half. Glen Johnson is only 27 and Kyle Walker is miles ahead of Kelly, and there is Richards. Kelly isn't the 'future'.

I see rather than maintain a dignified silence on the matter, Ferdinand is now bleating to the Sun about how his England career looks over. Is it too much to hope that the egotistical prick could shut up for the sake of the lads that are out there?

Re: Cahill out of the Euros
Great remarks from Steven Gerrard on the subject of Kelly coming in 'instead of' Ferdinand. "He hasn't come in instead of Ferdinand, he's come in as replacement for Glen Johnson at Right-Back".
So have a bit o' that, you pompous, arrogant, self-important, over-rated, shit, duck-lipped wanker!

Re: Cahill out of the Euros
Anyone else thinking that Cahill's seeming a bit injury-prone? Albeit some of 'em are kinda freakish (blood clot and broken jaw). On the one hand it's unlucky, but on the other he seems to be out a lot.

I'd agree, if it was hamstring, calf, groin injuries etc. otherwise, like you say, it's just unlucky.
