Can't understand our striker taking corners, especially when on tonight's evidence he isn't very good at it....

Goals. That's all that's missing here. Well pleased with out committment and every game is going to be close. Nobody wants to lose and go home. Rooney solid as a rock in midfield and my only moan is Sterling. His passing is shocking and he sure won't die of overwork. Walker is playing really well and we look solid enough at the back. GOALS....are what we want. Come on.... :oyea:

Agree with this. Sterling off. Absolutely shocking. Think it's Vardy time in my view

We need to bring Vardy on for Sterling here.

Yep. Waiting too long for me and we are letting them back into this.

Did I blink and miss the high points of Sterling's season that merited his place in this squad let alone the starting eleven?

Is Roy blind here? How has he left Sterling on?

Vardy up front for me now. Use his pace as an outlet to chase balls down.

Roy's fault. All the tactical nous of a cooked turd.

Russia only have big lumps and set pieces. So let's sit back, have no pace and just let them load the box for the last few minutes.

The very obvious change was Vardy up front to chase the ball into channels and offer an outlet.

Sorry Roy you are absolutely shite once again.

Still if they can't beat the next 2 they don't so deserve to go through. I think they will.

Russia were dreadful, I think Wales will be better.

We are hamstrung by a clueless manager who once again shows when it matters he has no balls.

I don't rate hodgson at all either, but having watched both games England is the best team. The same level of performance should be enough. I hope we don't see sterling again.

B.W.F.Ci, Hodgson is not a cluelesss manager. His record this last twelve monthsa has been excellent. He's overseen in Sterling without a doubt, and the same man missed or cocked up some real chances, but we were so superior that a draw feels like a big loss. When they got the corner in the 90th minute my heart sank. So many, many times before we've taken the foot off the gas and paid the price for it. One goal lead is never enough and their keeper saved at least three almost certain goals. Lets hope we resurrect ourselves and sort it. None of it, Sterling's selection apart, is Hodgson's fault.

oh for goodness sake - that could just as easily have been 3-0 to England - it wasn't clueless or shite or shocking or any combination of ludicrous superlatives... (IMHO!)

Plus, anyone can concede a goal like the Russian one.

Russia were awful. Yes, we made lots of chances, but it's goals that count. How Sterling stayed on for so long is a mystery to me. He offers nothing, other than running the ball into an area then losing it. He should be dropped. End of.

Also, Hart's distribution was very very suspect.

Other than that, I thought we did very well. Thoroughly deserved a win. On another day that's what we would have got. Why is watching England so frustrating?

The performance from the team was good. The decisions from the manager were appalling. We needed to get pace up front once we scored to help stretch behind a very old and tired Russian back line. Instead we bring Milner on and sit deep against a team who can only throw balls into the box. End result is it only takes one set piece or knock down or mistake sitting deep against that. We had no outlet.

Hodgson isn't good enough. That shines through tonight. Even fecking Peter Crouch could see the issue.
