Re: Tonight's Football
Decent game played in good spirit and with creditable respect for the occasion. Crowd were magnificent. Our goals were spectacular and I know nothing of this Alli lad but he looks very useful. Just an odd time or two when I could hear Louis Armstrong singing "We have all the time in the world" and then bang, we lost the ball, but with so many new faces and changes it was a pretty decent display. Not sure if Gibbs is a better option than Leighton James or Walker (who played against Spain) better than Klein, or Stones and Dier ready to step up, but we looked pretty strong in defence and sharp up front. France were no Spain, mind. I thought Gary Cahill was playing left back at the start.

I should hope he is. Mr James is 62 years old and not qualified to play for England having previously gained 54 caps for Wales.TANGODANCER wrote:Not sure if Gibbs is a better option than Leighton James
Ryan Bertrand is the other option at left back. I thought he looked OK against Spain.

Re: Tonight's Football
hordes of arsenal fans bleating and whining about injuries and their season being over...

Or, "if we keep quiet we could soon be the only live 'sport' the BBC has & then we'll HAVE to be taken seriously !"
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Tonight's Football
Someone once pointed out than Stretford had been on TV in the FA Cup for every single match they've had in the past 60'odd ties.
I notice that Salford FC have managed to get both their FA Cup 'proper' games this season on telly too. Owned of course by the mob from there.
The one-eyed bias is amazing.

Re: Tonight's Football
Friday night and football on TV. Ah, well, not football then. Suffered 18 mins of Salford v the other lot (Hartlepool) and turned it off. Just a big-boot clogging match of the Queens Park variety skill level. Dire.

Re: Tonight's Football
if Leicester were to come anywhere near winning the premier league title - it might make me take some kind of an interest in what's going on up there...
it'd be ace! (won't happen, though...)
