There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

And I was just being in a hurry. Anyway, shame for the Toblerone lads, but that penalty miss was beyond awful. Shakiri was immense and M.O.T.M without a doubt.

Shame for Northern Ireland losing to an own goal by the Irish lad. Not a great game and Bale did next to nothing of note except couple of obvious dives. Ref had already given him 39 free kicks.

Sounds un-Christian, but sincerely hoping Croatia can send Ronaldo and co home tonight. That would be nice.. :D

And create the winner?

Wales were poor. It was a poor game of very low quality football all round.

Poland Switzerland wasn't much better either. Hoping for much better this evening.

An own goal? Decent ball, granted, but.....

Well it was a goal if the defender hadnt touched it.

Was a brilliant delivery. Pretty much all he did but I guess it was enough.

?..Just proves that the best teams don't always win. Croatia were by far the better team and Portugal are very lucky to be going through. Terrible game? I didn't think so at all.

Well there wasn't so much as an effort on goal for 90 minutes was there?

Croatia were marginally the better side, but Portugal did what they do, soak it up and hit with their one chance. Croatia were poor for me until the last 15 minutes of extra time. They didn't create nearly enough.

Ref seems a bit pro France. Still 1-0 to the Republic from that pen. I think the ref's trying to compensate for giving it. :)

Aye thought it was poor. Better quality than Wales NI but still v dull. Croatia no cutting edge.

Ireland excellent so far. Long and Murphy a real handful.

Hell of a game this so far. Hope Ireland can hold out, not just for selfish reasons. Incredible last ditch defending at the end there!

Key to this game is Ireland grabbing a second goal before they tire. France will score. Ireland need 2.

Ireland had two breaks first 10 minutes of second half. Did nothing with them. Score one of those and that is game.

Shame.

France will be semi finalists at least. Probably finalists.

It's not be too worried if I were England. France look dreadful at the back, especially against pace and set pieces. Vardy will be licking his lips. Shame the dreadful Rami will be suspended, but Mangala is toss too.

Got to get past Iceland first.

If England play France can guarantee that Mangala will have the game of his life and look an absolute beast. Nailed on.

If England win tomorrow, we will beat the French, no way will they have the space Ireland let them and we are far more dangerous on the break.
Shame for the Irish but like has been said they needed a second goal.
Hope the Germans have a bad hair day in half an hour or so :D

France will take some beating. Good effort by the R.O.I but there was always only going to be one winner, especialy after they went down to ten. We need to worry about just doing a job on Iceland for now. Festina Lente.
