Re: Tonight's Football
My Saturday team play our home games at Watford's training ground; they were there yesterday eating lunch after a training session and I ended up stood in the queue for food next to Odion Ighalo. Never have I felt more inadequate as an adult man. He is f*cking MASSIVE.

Felt the same when I met David James. Bear in mind that I'm 6' 2", he's the only bloke that I've ever felt dwarfed by.Prufrock wrote:My Saturday team play our home games at Watford's training ground; they were there yesterday eating lunch after a training session and I ended up stood in the queue for food next to Odion Ighalo. This youth from Hibs, he misses an absolute sitter, but the worst miss ever? I'm not having that - it's not even the worst miss in Scotland, which I would say goes to that lad from Wolves whose surname reads like an unfortunate draw from the Scrabble bag.

England played really well for 44 mins, didn't score. Germany shuffle forward, speculative shot. 1-0 them.

England turn to substitutes Vardy and Barkley.

Fair play to them.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Tonight's Football
i haven't watched an england friendly for ages - but was interested tonight, so I watched - and actually enjoyed it!!
I like the look of this mix - I'd maybe like to see Wilshere in there and perhaps not henderson... but - not at all sure I miss the rest of that arsenal contingent... surely Rooney's days are numbered - and walcott and oxtail chamberpot...
that vardy goal looked v. cool!

Brilliant. It's been absolutely ages since I've enjoyed an England game as much as that.

Re: Tonight's Football
Great to see an England side play with pace and composure. Couple of great goals and Sturridge to come off the bench. Just need to do it when it counts now....

Re: Tonight's Football
Well, wasn't that satisfying.
There's something eminently mintball chuffing about seeing German goalkeepers picking the ball out of the back of the net. Never did like Kahn and Nuer ( oh look guys I can play centre half) is a pleasure in waiting when somebody lobs him whil.e he's beeing smart. A friendly, yes, but a very nice display all round. Best English side for a fair old while. The German freedom on the wings had me worried for a while, but they are always a very well regimented side and their passing and hardly ever giving the ball away is creditable. Can, Gomez and Kadhera are laughing assassins and it was great to see them shut up. How many could we have made it ? All in all...
