Re: Euro Championships 2016
Only saw the 2nd half but that's very much how it looked. Still needed a cracking save from Buffon before the 2nd went in, mind. I'd be pretty pissed off if I was a Spaniard and I'd just seen a side stuffed with such talent produce so precious little.BWFC_Insane wrote:Italy really deserved that, totally outplayed Spain.

Was a good save, Italy could and probably should have been clear by then. De Gea made several great saves.Bruce Rioja wrote:Only saw the 2nd half but that's very much how it looked. Fading stars in the Soain side aren't they? Fabregas, Silva, Iniesta all getting past their best.

Back to the bad old England we know and love. Lump it up to the big man. Where's the careful possession game gone?
Ah, hang on, there it is!

Defending for their goal was utterly wretched. Rooney and Walker totally asleep.

Sorry Roy. Once again we are shambolic. You haven't got a clue how to prepare a side for an international game.
We are the most disorganised side in the competition.

Keeper red? Jesus no. Was nowhere near a red card. Especially with the new rules.throwawayboltonian wrote:Iceland lucky to have 11 players still on the pitch. Keeper should have had a red, as should their midfielder then. Professional foul off the ball whilst play had stopped. Disgraceful.
No need for excuses. England are being embarrassed in every single department. Not least the manager and coaches.

Re: Euro Championships 2016
It wasn't a goal scoring chance. And according to commentators yesterday they introduced double jeopardy for such decisions to stop penalties and red cards being awarded automatically in such instances.throwawayboltonian wrote:Mate he was nowhere near the ball, at all, that's a red. I'm not excusing, we deserve to be losing. It's a dire performance. But they're lucky to still have 11 players.
Anyway, wasn't a red as Sterling couldn't have scored from there.
Not one England player has been anywhere near good enough. Not one of them.
Alli has been shite this tournament as has Kane. They need huge second halves to convince they are anything other than overrated wannabes just like the 'golden generation'.
Doesn't help that our useless manager hasn't a clue what his best team is and hasn't picked the same 11 in 4 games.

Re: Euro Championships 2016
Haven't the rules changed re double jeopardy? Commentator mentioned it in the France Ireland game that when ref sent the Irish lad off it must have been outside the box. In any event Sterling was going away from goal so never a red for me either way.throwawayboltonian wrote:Mate he was nowhere near the ball, at all, that's a red. Re: Euro Championships 2016
Here we go, players perform like pub-leaguers so blame the manager. Twice now Hart has let in supersoft goals. We had the lead inside five minutes and sloppy play threw it away. Nothing to do with Hodgson, the players were shocking. They still seem to think you get time to think at this level. You don't. Even if we get back and win we'll go no further playing like this.BWFC_Insane wrote:Sorry Roy. Once again we are shambolic. You haven't got a clue how to prepare a side for an international game. Anyway...COME ON ENGLAND....

So the manager isn't responsible for setting us up for defending set pieces? Or picking a settled consistent side.TANGODANCER wrote:Here we go, players perform like pub-leaguers so blame the manager. Roy's rubbish. That much is absolutely obvious.
The players are poor I agree. But Allardyce as manager would have this lot playing and prepared 10 times better and you know it.

Oh, have to say the standards of refereing are absolute crap. Thuggery rules: shirt-dragging, arms round necks, tripping, body-checks and all the obvious rest. Ruining the game.

Dier off, for Wilshere...not so sure about that. Be happy if it works though. Lost any real midfield presence and some height.....
