Re: Tonight's Football
This has apparently extended to the FA contacting someone organising a benefit game for victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster to inform them that Barton's ban extends to that and he can't play.
Outstanding as per.

I'd like to care about Joey Barton being banned for anything from mass murder to street littering. I just don't.

Re: Tonight's Football
Do all games of football come under the FA or summat? Including my games of 'eaders and volleys as a kid?

Re: Tonight's Football
I do care about the FA being a useless bunch of pen-pushing jobsworth old chaps, though.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 10:28 amI'd like to care about Joey Barton being banned for anything from mass murder to street littering. I just don't.

Yeah but anything that gets that fcukwit out of the game can't be a wrong decision.Prufrock wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 11:43 amI do care about the FA being a useless bunch of pen-pushing jobsworth old chaps, though.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 10:28 amI'd like to care about Joey Barton being banned for anything from mass murder to street littering. "It's 51 years to the day, that England beat Germany, is this the day that the record books get rewritten" Err, no Claire, it isn't...
This is the Euro's and quarter finals that was the World Cup and the final. And a very, very minor point, Claire, they're women.

History rewritten apparently. Reasonable win, I thought overall, although struggling to recall fewer shots over 90 minutes even in a Bolton match.

Re: Tonight's Football
They've won every game, and I've watched them this year and last, more on fight and desire than pure skill. Spain, Portugal and France, all of whom they beat were probably the better football teams technically, but we'll take it however. Oh, and just for the record; Claire Whatsit gets right on my nerve ends. A self-serving, camera seeking know all band waggon jumper grade one. There, that's better..Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2017 10:27 pmHistory rewritten apparently. Really tried hard to like it this time, watched the highlights so far...
Tonight been for a couple with a mate, the bar had it on inside. Every time went in something dreadful happened. Still think I'm better than half of them.

Re: Tonight's Football
This Mendy that City spunked a fortune on, is he related to Bernard? On this showing he's equally as shite without any of the pace.
Be sure to see Bournemouth's goal, btw. It is a thing of absolute beauty.

Re: Tonight's Football
Didn't seem to miss Rooney at all tonight. We played Malta, beat then 4-0 and got the points. That's all we had to do. You don't get any more points for beating Germany, France or Spain. Thought Rhodes did a decent job as playmaker and Rashford should definitely replace Stirling who seems to be going worse as time goes on. Ref let Malta clog us somthing painful, but we got on with it. Four decent goals and job done. Nothing more to say. Stones look to have had a few pies and added the pounds.

Don't know why I keep writing that Harry. Henderson I meant. Got the Jordan bit right though.

Re: Tonight's Football
Up against a better side tonight in Slovakia who played a bit of decent stuff at times without really troubling our defence, apart from us being asleep at the start, which could have cost us. Glad Rashford got the nod ahead of Sterling and he made a difference. Sterling works in fits and starts and nowhere near uses the talent he has flat out. Two good goals and some decent effort made us look decent. We still tend towards the "too cool for school" game at times and there was some careless passing in there, but the effort and energy were definitely better. Bit of shooting practise needed from one or two, but no bad result overall.

Re: Tonight's Football
The first half an hour was as bad as I've seen from England for days.
Recovered well and I thought we were pretty good value for the win in the end, despite some nervy moments.
Southgate should not be the manager though. His selection is dreadful and the players look so lethargic at times under him.

He's just so fecking dull, as is his team. Just more of the same. Watched about half of it and realised I hadn't watched an England game since the euros.boltonboris wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 3:04 pmThe first half an hour was as bad as I've seen from England for days.

Re: Tonight's Football
What an absolute todger Gary Neville is. If you haven't seen it yet, wait 'til you see Mane's assault on City's 'keeper. Neville reckons it wasn't worthy of a red card. I'd be more inclined to have Mane arrested.

Re: Tonight's Football
Think that's a touch harsh (on Mane, not Neville). It was a red, you can't be doing that, but his eyes were on the ball the whole time and if he's a second quicker it's a goal. Lot more sympathy for Mane than for Arnautavic or Mitrovic say. Neville a cock for claiming it wasn't a red, mind.
