He says it's like the club is trying to buy it's fans' affection and they should just put up with the odd leathering now and then. All part of being a fan.

I'd agree with him but there's the small matter of paying money to go all the way up to Manchester to watch it happen...

I really don't get it. Getting thumped now and again is just part and parcel of it. We got dicked by Stoke at Wembley, a few days later I was at Cravern Cottage to watch us get dicked by Fulham. It's not nice, but hey, I'm over it (almost )

he has a point - seriously... arsenal fans don't seem to realise that getting dicked every now and again is part and parcel of supporting a club. If you have to be compensated when you lose - then that's a different kind of "fan" altogether...

I think the club were worried that the poor lambs would be so traumatised by the tonking that the majority of fans would stop supporting them and bugger off to Chelsea instead.
