Fine bunch of fans that only support when you're winning. It's not exactly like Arsenal have never lost before. Might be in for a tough season. Welcome to Tonkville you Gooner fans.

i think every proper football fan understands that getting thrashed occasionally is the way things are. I don't suppose they demanded to be compensated when we lost, its was the clubs idea, not the fans and lets face it - it was a pretty exceptional loss. A big defeat to bitter rivals, so perhaps thats what prompted the clubs move?thebish wrote:he has a point - seriously... arsenal fans don't seem to realise that getting dicked every now and again is part and parcel of supporting a club. If you have to be compensated when you lose - then that's a different kind of "fan" altogether...Jakerbeef wrote:Mate of mine actually doesn't like the free ticket idea.
He says it's like the club is trying to buy it's fans' affection and they should just put up with the odd leathering now and then. All part of being a fan.
it's a bad idea - and only encourages them...

I think its a nice touch though i agree fans shouldn't expect that sort of thing. And away fans aren't usually prawn sandwich munchers are they?

Finally Wengers pulled his finger out and bought some players, even if one of them is a Chelsea reserve... sigh...

And yes, it does.Arteta would be good though...

and yes, Arteta will be a fantastic signing and looking like it is happening
Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
Arteta and Benayoun are both good players, players I'd be delighted to have here, but they are each more than a single step down from Fabregas and Nasri. I was expecting a Pjanic/Hazard jobbie.
Mertesacker is good when surrounded by good defenders and all he has to do is head it away. Otherwise he is shit. Unfortunately, at Arsenal he is likely to be surrounded by Koscielny and Djorou. Park is an odd one, and no idea on the brazillian full back. Very odd one from Mr Wenger. Unconvinced.

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
I know little about Park and Santos i must confess. I think Mertesacker will be good alongside Vermaellen (Not Kos or Djourou) though if i'm honest, i would have preferred Cahill... Arteta would be really good and Benayoun adequate back up, but as you say, neither really a proper replacement for Fabregas or Nasri. Oh well, it could have been worse i guess.
Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
Bad news for Everton losing a quality player when they have brought so little in, and obviously will have to wait if they get to reinvest the cash on the squad. Arteta is a quality player-as good as Fabregas? Probably not but best Arsenal signing of the window imo

So Arsenal have actually signed Arteta then?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Holdens better than them all.
Well maybe not Fabregas. Or Nasri.

I'd agree with that, but just who would we have got in that was as good as Nasri or Fabregas? Anything is better then Rosicky and Arshavin.Prufrock wrote:According to the BBC live window thing, yes.

I'm quite surprised none of the bigger clubs showed any interest in him, tbh. Though he's still injured isn't he?Lord Kangana wrote:Holdens better than them all.
