West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!

I would say that the amount of prem teams in London would be similar although we dont have the draw of Rugby league down here which I didnt realise until recently was so massive in the NorffBench wrote:Another good post sir.whufc2007 wrote:it means something when your talking about loyalty especially in regards to West Ham. You see....the size of your crowd means feck all.
Which is the mirror image of teams that are performing well yet cannot get fans to come and watch them and result to corny (sp) american rubbish to get the crowd going, and with this I include Blackburn and Wigan.
And in reference to Sunderland - well I have the utmost of respect for them (or respec' if one of the idiots on here wants to continue to have a pop about me living in London), they were one of the best supports home and away I witnessed last season
And as for loyalty, although our support is a tad down this season (along with the majority of Clubs in the top flight), our home crowd has largely remained static for the last few years. If we were to get relegated, I doubt it would drop too much. But that into the perspective of our catchment area and conurbation against our close rivals (United, Citeh, Liverpool, Blackburn, Wigan, Everton etc etc) against that of West Ham's - and I don't think we do too badly overall.

I'm enjoying this, but must say its not the loyalty that gets me as I do actually think Spammers are a pretty loyal bunch of fans.
I think what really gets me, and has probably turned me against your club is the media, and the reaction there in to your relegation. We wwent from being "plucky bolton" battling against the drop to the media villification of football that we are now, why? Because we dared beat Brookings darlings!!
As for the media not liking you?? Hell are you blind they basically wank on the MOTD counter when you have a shot.
As for why do we not particularly like west ham fans, try this little nugget of wisdom from one of your fans

To be honest it would be nice to get back to how it used to be with a smattering of black players enhancing the team. Its no surprise that over time we have seen ourselves slip. Its the fuzzywuzzes. They don't like it up em when the going gets tough.
I'm totally fed up with the attitudes of these lads. It goes against the grain of the club..........of Bonds Brooking Martin etc.
They might look cool off the pitch but they'll never buy the class needed on it.

Well this thread has certainly increased while i was sleeping (damn these time zones). I presume it was part of Batty's plot to overtake the bish in the best thread competition. Still I'm glad the debate is descending to the rational now. However, I do take exception to:
Hockey teams don't play 'I feel good' after a goal. They don't play anything. A red light goes on and people cheer very loudly - you couldn't hear a song anyway. Now, they sometimes play music during the commercial breaks in a televised game - that's part of the economics of the game. The crowds sing to get the players worked up (at least they do in Montreal) some "Ole Ole Ole" thing and, when they think the game is in the bag, it changes to "Na Na Na Na Goodbye."
Please leave the holy game of Hockey out of this argument.

As for JM, well there in lies the paradox that is west ham, and the one that us as supporters live with daily
Fair point, but but 20 years ago we were in the lower divisions when the likes of Man U, Liverpool and Everton were consistently in the top flight-this period would contribute to our attendances Wigan have a similar problemwhufc2007 wrote:I would say that the amount of prem teams in London would be similar although we dont have the draw of Rugby league down here which I didnt realise until recently was so massive in the NorffBench wrote:Another good post sir.whufc2007 wrote:it means something when your talking about loyalty especially in regards to West Ham. In regards to the press, well I suppose it's a matter of perspective, from our point of view there seems to be leaked articles, bollocks press reporting etc, on a daily basis about the club (and im not talking about transfer targets), it aint nice but you get on with it.David Lee's Hair wrote:I'm enjoying this, but must say its not the loyalty that gets me as I do actually think Spammers are a pretty loyal bunch of fans.

In regards to the shit you lot faced when we went down, I cant really argue against it, but I still dont understand why you would so consistantly hate the club, when the press are to blame.
And as for that quote, please dont lump me or the majority of West Ham fans with that idiot. It's unfortunate fact that EVERY club has it's idiots.
Unfortunately Monty, in the UK I suspect there is music played to an extraordinary level when a goal goes in for the home team. Hell its one of the beauties of football having rivalries and unwarranted hates!!
I would describe every club outside of the top 4 as a selling club, the reason we have sold more than most is down to the financial state of the club. Hopefully now we are in better hands (on first impessions), we wont have to sell to simply survive.hisroyalgingerness wrote:errr, yeah that's what a selling club does. they don't do it for funwhufc2007 wrote:think you'll find that the likes of Johnson etc were sold to simply clear the debts that ourn previous manager had run up.hisroyalgingerness wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 230031.stmhisroyalgingerness wrote:west ham matt...

In regards to Anton, not on current form, although if the reports were to be agreed we had 3 players on the potential maybe list for the world cup last year, I would hope Mc.claren would pick on form rather than shirt colour, but thats ENGLAND and a whole other coversation

This is all slightly sad on your parts dont you think?
Its true that we are where we deserve to be at the moment but thats down to our players thinking they are big time charlies after just one season in the Prem and lets be fair anyone who knows anything about football knows that the second season back is always harder - after all the table does not lie. Its also true that you are having a great season - because you are a good team with a good manager players like Nolan, Speed are class and Sam seems to know the right boys to bring in - but are you really Champions League quality as a few posts on here suggest I think not ( I was hoping that you would get the champs league spot over Liverpool that was until you got smashed by them and after reading these posts I quite glad now )
So whats the point of all this slagging you beat us 4 - 0 at your plastic lifeless stadium I was there and full respect to the hammers fans still singing, chanting and doing the conga at 4 - 0, would your fans do the same? last year in the FA cup at our place you must have only brought about 300 fans down who sat lifeless not one poxy song, and your not really that much better when you play us in the league - I was there at Reading where we were stuffed by a very well organised, very good Reading team. Our fans did the very same thing sang all the way through. Our team who are shite because to be honest none are premiership quality. Are no reflection on the hammers fans or the clubs name or its history, so whats the point in petty handbag comments to the supporters, if your really that happy that we are going down e - mail the club and pass your points onto the players. But when all's said and done just remember that what goes around comes around and it might take a few seasons but at some point you might be struggling again at which time I will look out for the "Lets all laugh at Bolton" thread which will no doubt be plastered on here. I will round up my rant by pointing out that i'm sure if you were where we are plenty of teams would miss you as you do bring so much to the Premiership your ground which looks exactly the same as the JJB with no character and no atmosphere and a lot of empty seats, your fans with no passion and no voice even though your teams quality, and all from your tin pot town that is so boring and shite that the locals would rather go to Manchester to spend their money

Lot of bile, fear and loathing in there, eh? I suggest you see someone about all that repressed anger.
Nice try. But no jellied eels.
