A respectful and honest view at last!mackemmad wrote:I'll just have say here. In terms of history, facilities, and fans we are a big club, however we have a long way to go before we are a succesful club in the present. I think we do have the funds to do this but its going to take a lot of hard work on mr keanes and mr quinns part to make it happen. At the moment I think Sunderland and Bolton are on a par. What will happen in the future? Well, we'll just have to wait and see.
Only honest in your view as it is ever so slightly fawning.Soldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:A respectful and honest view at last!mackemmad wrote:I'll just have say here. I thought he was a pretty good WUM though - kept us going.TANGODANCER wrote:walter had nothing sensible to add and was just here for aggro. He just left.
There is an enduring mystery that a club with the support of Sunderland can achieve very, very little. Same goes for Man City, Newcastle, and in recent times, Everton. I give it to their fans - they pretty much keep going. Though both newcastle and sunderland, in the depths of despair and disillusion have had average gates under 20000, they can also be in the top six of crowds even when they are hopeless.
There is, of course, no great virtue in this. It just means the cities are bigger, the catchment zone less populated.
And, in truth, I'm very happy about their existence - they're there to prove size is less than everything. In sunderland's case, having set the TWO lowest points totals in the history of the PL, MUCH less...
but, give it to Walter, he was an annoying little tw*t and will probably do well in his GCSEs.
Unlike sunderland in the coming season.
