It's a weird one. Part of the reason we can't keep the ball is Saka and Sterling are bad into feet. But then their directness is our main threat.

I still think the Saka Sancho call us a weird one. The balance the other day was perfect. One who wants to run in behind, one who wants to feet, the balance was bob on, don't know why you'd change it.

But I'm resigned now, he's going that way so I hope it works. Doesn't suit Phillips and Rice though.

That’s not the issue. The huge gap in midfield when Phillips pushes on and the fact our midfield aren’t comfortable when pressed is our issue. Saka and Sterling have both been very good. The midfield is probably playing above its level in the way we are trying to play.

That change is either immensely brave or something that will be talked about for decades…

Phenomenal. Worries me that he thinks he's still managing Middleborough.

Mancini managing both teams we win. Otherwise flip a coin. Pens anyone?

For me Southgate has got the calls right this tournament. We can all sit and say he’s rubbish and we all have. But he’s got a plan he’s executing it and it’s working. Saka the right call. Sterling is our player of the tournament by a mile yet you and I and half the country weren’t picking him at the start. What do we know?

And taking Grealish off was the right call as it let us control the game. I think he’s done an amazing job in his own way. And that’s how you’ve got to do it.

A better manager with these players could still get this lot to a final with the teams we've faced, but do it playing better stuff.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Not many top managers want to manage at international level and there's no major English candidate who would do a better job. I love having an English manager leading England.

I find his style of play boring and I think we've had a good slice of luck (plus, it was a dive) - but it still doesn't matter.

Major final. It's a big ask vs this Italy side, but we can win it.

Love it.

Man of the match? Kane? Sterling? Give it them both. Both were 10/10 for me. Maguire a 9.

Italy fans complaining about diving is my favourite bit.

We're in a final. It's tough to disagree. Mancini or Enrique in charge I think we win it conformably (as long as the other isn't managing France) but like you say, who's managing at interventional l international level?

Serious head for a second, the lads who are grabbing the glory are the ones who are holding us back. But it isn't changing so let's hope they can do it one more time.

More importantly. Possibly the best night of my life. Doesn't feel real.. Going to shit myself all Sunday. Hope they've got one more in them.

Plenty to respect about Italy, nothing to fear. Every moment Harry Kane is awake from now until Sunday I'd be showing him the Morata goal.

I think it's pens after 120 mins 0-0.

Because of the managers too. Southgate will go 532. Mancini will revert to type. It's going to be awful. But I'll f*cking take it.

It’s absolutely unreal the amount of disrespect Sterling gets. Has been outstanding yet papers want to talk about him ‘diving’ rather than what was an exceptional performance from him all tournament and especially last night.

Those journalists that do mention how unbelievably good he was yesterday on Twitter are bombarded with people, including England fans telling them they are wrong.

It’s madness. He’s been England’s best player. Full stop. Without him we’d not be in a final.

Hope he scores the winner then kneels with a picture of Karl Marx held aloft.

Someone's going to have to explain this VAR business to me though. How on earth is it not a 'clear and obvious error' if the referee awards a penalty that he quite clearly and obviously shouldn't have? :conf:
