Tonight's Football

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Chelsea don’t have much patience, Tuchel sacked already!
A man who had won the pinnacle of club football. And they want to replace him with Graham Potter. An absolute joke of a decision. Potter might be brilliant but he’s barely out of nappies and has done a good job at Brighton but that’s it. A good job. What a ridiculous decision. He will do well to last a year.
Ahem. I quote myself but it’s almost like these people running clubs are unfit for the job…..

And now they’ve replaced him with wank Lampard. Super.

No doubt Gerrard is waiting for a call for his career to be recycled again…

None of these people are fit to run a bath.

Not really tonight’s football but still. Always thought he was an absolute brilliant person and he’s still after Big Sam and Bruce my favourite bolton manager by some distance. This is just lovely.

I agree with all that.

I'll always be grateful for the way he publicly conducted himself while our club was essentially disintegrating.

He didn't deserve anything like the criticism he got for the on field performances either, in my opinion. When he had something approaching the required resources he built two well-functioning teams.

He fought to keep the club going behind the scenes. Getting involved in negotiations well beyond a manager’s remit.

It’s a shame Sharon didn’t manage to persuade him to stay for that year as he’d have transitioned us far better than Hill and given Evatt a much better start.

Absolute gent too.

Congrats to Wrexham. And Parky. What an absolutely fairytale story. Not having any of the nonsense people write about Wrexham. This is a working town that deserves success after years in the wilderness and their owners have come in, seem to genuinely care and have given them the dream.

That’s what football is all about.

Couldn’t be more pleased for Parky. What an absolute gent he is and he will be a hero in Wrexham now for eternity.

Yes, to the above regarding Parky. Super chap remained dignified during trying times. Wish him all the best.

As an aside 69,000 for City v Sheffield yesterday, puts into context how decent the PJT turnout was from 2 L1 Clubs...

Always nice to see it’s a former Bolton player being useless that has managed to mess up Arsenal’s title challenge.

Which one :D ?

(Though I assume you mean Ramsdale, thought Rob did ok). I mean he's not good enough for a team wanting to win the league but he was no worse than the liability next to him. Saliba reaching Uber -Andranik levels now.

I mean Holding. Not just last night, but poor lad's out of his depth. He's probably a league higher than he out to be and certainly if being generous the wrong end of a league.

Nice goal though.

Holding was getting pelters from Gooners on twitter last night. No idea why, they weren't watching the same game as me if they think he was responsible for them losing. City, and in particular De Bruyne and Haaland were immense last night.

Since they've had to play him - he's been useless. Not surprising because there is no way he's that level.

But that's the way it goes - squad depth matters and City have a huge depth that Arsenal don't have an Holding is sort of the poster boy to exemplify that.

Gabriel was a bigger liability.

Insane being very harsh. He's not good enough to start week in week out for a team with designs on winning the league but he's a solid Premier League centre half.

They've had a fantastic season, and you never know in football, but city game them a lesson the other night. Saliba seems nowhere near coming back and tough to see them winning it without him.

We tried signing that Gabriel when he younger, but his wages were out of reach...

Since Holding has come into the side, they've conceded about 15 goals in 5 games. They've not exactly had a crunching set of fixtures either, City aside

The way they've defended over the past month or so is why they won't win the league but I've seen a fair bit of that and it's a long way from being Holding's fault.

Saliba has been excellent and has been a big miss. Gabriel is very ropey and then Holding is fine but no better and has a mistake in him. Ramsdale has been very dodgy too. Plus as a team they've been off. 2-0 up at Anfield and West Ham and then stopped playing in both.

They've a £20m centre back sitting on the bench too, and a £50m centre back playing at right back (albeit with no other real RB cover).

Either way, you'd think he might go in the summer, but I'd be v surprised if it wasn't to a Prem team, so hopefully some good wedge for us!
