There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Steer clear of Skye then. Some of the prices charged here should come with a jail sentence!

Ooh are you in Skye? A mate lives there now so we drove to see him. Calculated we could have driven to northern Italy in the same time. And that car has just this morning had to be scrapped.

Lovely place to look at, but postcards will suffice thank you! :D

Yes, moved here after Dubai. A minor change of scenery and lifestyle

A few come here with some romantic notion of getting away from things and then winter hits, along with things like hospital appointments in Aberdeen and 3 hours plus to go shopping. Many folk don't last a couple of winters, but those that do are rewarded with a great lifestyle.

Oh aye, true. The only thing that would stop me perching on the West coast would be the bloody Midge, I seem to be flavour of the month to them alongside the mossie.
Funny thing though, for a couple of years after Chemo the buggers wouldn't go near me :D

It's a lovely place, especially if you like (or at least don't mind) isolation. Much happiness to you.

After 20 years in London and 6 in Dubai, a bit of isolation is doing wonders. I did find it difficult the first time I ventured off the island after the pandemic. For 2 years I'd only left my village a handful of times to get vaccinations. Suddenly being in crowded high streets and airports was very overwhelming. I now have an appreciation for those poor people that suffer from anxiety.

Ireland v England. Usually this would've been opportunity for a cagey affair. Not today. Got the feel of a graining ground run out this.

Can't see our part time manager getting the full gig if he thinks giving run outs to the ex u21 lads a go. Angel Gomes, wtf.

Gordon and Bowen looking useful however. We missed them in the final.

Still this England side play like Bolton. Frustrating to watch at times and decent when clinical.

England today had width high up the pitch, pace and runners in behind. And on the counter really went direct. I would love it if Bolton had that and could play like that.

Last time I can really remember us having that level of dynamism was when we had Fossey and Dapo in the side for that half season. That was a very good dynamic watch.

I think Carsley is a shoe in isn’t he?

England did what they had to do first half, professionally with a good defence and scored two decent goals. Jack Grealish was outstanding, as was Gallagher.. The game has changed so much that the Harry Kane striker role has had to change with it, and he's like a caged tiger, ever dangerous but well locked up. Unless we adapt more of a "shoot on sight" policy I fear he'll either have to be a different player or become surplus to numbers. Very hard for me to admit that, because he's a great asset.

Second half we just sat back a bit and let Ireland do the running (and just a wee bit more fouling and scragging our lads.) No need to do more so we didn't. With a makeshift side we played very well together and shows our strength in numbers. We might not be just as lucky in future draws and meet stiffer opposition sooner. Well done the lads. Worthy of mention was a class display by the Irish Keeper , and one very good save by our own. As ever, Que Sera.. :oyea:

Wales scraped a 2-1 win over Montenegro after scoring two goals in the opening three minutes. They defended well and it was an entertaining game , sort of underwater rugby-cum-wrestling in a savage downpour, but Montenegro did most of the attacking second half. I think everybody was glad to see the end of it, because conditions really were atrocious. Montenegro hit the bar with a long-range effort after spotting the keeper off his line. Wales did what they had to do.

The Thee Lions beat Filand 2-0 (both Harry Kane crackers plus a terrific diving header disallowed for offside.). Jack Grealish M.O.T.M. for me, sharing it with Finland's Number 4, a real rock in defence. Massive possession b y England but goals are still all that really count. That said, a polished performance by the regulars Kaka, Rice Arnold etc, and co, and great stuff from the new lads, Gomez, Gordan , Eze. Good entertaining game. :oyea:

England play Greece tonight. On ITV. Northern Ireland play Saturday.

Harry Kane and Jack Grealish are both unavailable due to reported "slight knocks". Does this sound a little "jiggerypokerish or no?

No feeling like winning.......so they say. Just lately, between Bolton and England I haven't yet experienced it. Two disallowed goals
by Greece, a 2-1 loss and a lesson in positive football. No use me going on about crxp defending and w2tf is all this straight line waiting for corners?. In short, they out played us on chances taken (we missed a pan-full) and generally ran rings around us in our half. Okay we should have had a pen, but our days of living on a silver cloud are over chaps. We lost to a good side. :(

That from Carsley last night, was like farting at your job interview and wafting it at the interviewer. Absolutely blown it.

It was better, but Finland are a very, very poor side. We still look imbalanced to me and some of our best players are just competition for one another and we can't find a way to get them in together and ticking
