A miserly £3K to a man on his emoluments? Not brimming in confidence then, eh? ;)

No proper fullbacks for the weekends game vs everton. Out last one, Santos got injured tuesday night. We have Man City in ten days time. Gulp. :(

Apparently Quasimodo (Arsenal & France 1831) was a good example of a full-back.

Robin van Persie scored yet another goal this weekend but I was surprised how BBC 5 Live were creaming themselves over it. They were talking about goal of the season and one of the best volleys of all time.

I was expecting some wonder goal and I must say I was a little disappointed. Good goal, excellent technique, great ball but goal of the season? One of the best volleys of all time?

Was a good goal but agree, not world class. Could have been a tap in from a yard out for all i care. It got us 3 points.

It was pretty fecking good tbh. Technique for that over his shoulder on to his far foot, controlled. Was very very good. Certainly a contender for goal of the month/maybe season. Best volleys ever is a long way too far though. That has a definate answer, and it is another dutch fella. S'not even Van Persie's best ever volley, that one against Charlton was better.

It's not even RVP's best volley imho: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp_6yBB47bE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Big fan of Rodriguez's as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVVSOGLyAcU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The best volley ever thing is like trying to do a Slash and claim Hendrix isn't the best guitarist ever (guessed who topped his top 50 boys and girls?). No matter what argument you put forward, this wins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOgOmEUiqOg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nope.

It's Van Basten.
