ALLARDYCE APPOINTED NEWCASTLE MANAGER
Moderator: Zulus Thousand of em
Is there a post anywhere about which players people think Big Sam may come back for?
Do you think he will try and sign any players? I can't see him going for Davies or Anelka when they have players like Owen, Martins and Sibierski. I know Sibierski is a poor man's Super Kev, but I don't think Owen and Martins can play in a formation like we play with Super Kev? Owen cannot fit in with that formation, and I cannot see him playing Martins like he did with Diouf.
I can see him coming in for Diouf. I think Sam liked Diouf as a player and I think he is a player who would do well for Newcastle. I don't buy the fact that Newcastle fans hate him, I mean they seem to be keen on signing Joey Barton and who exactly likes Joey Barton? We love Diouf and any other team will love Diouf too if he is playing well.
I cannot see Sam coming in for any of our midfield, Newcastle have Emre, Butt and Parker, there is no room there for the likes of Kevin Nolan.
Sam maybe interested in Faye and TBH though. I think Sam is a big admirer of Faye, he would do a good job for Newcastle and probably would feel he can get him for around £2.5m? TBH for the fact he is on a free would be a good signing for Newcastle, but I agree with someone else who wrote that Sam and TBH probably didn't see eye to eye. But in many ways they are the same - i.e. TBH wanted to move on to bigger things, as did Sam!

Sir John Hall just announced that he's about to sell his shares in Newcastle to an outside investor. A takeover is now imminent. Freddie Shepherd out? Allardyce caught in a Leroy Rosenior situation?

The Sun says his position isn't under threat, but The Sun says a lot of things.trotter58 wrote:Sir John Hall just announced that he's about to sell his shares in Newcastle to an outside investor. A takeover is now imminent. Freddie Shepherd out? Allardyce caught in a Leroy Rosenior situation?
Intriguingly reclusive, this billionaire who apparently doesn't support any team but follows England home and away. But like him, because Dave Whelan hates him, and that's enough for me.

Magpies manager Sam Allardyce was also taken by surprise by Ashley's bid.
"I'm as shocked about this as chairman Freddy Shepherd," Allardyce told The Sun.
"I will be going to see the chairman to see what this all means.
"I don't know anything about the person hoping to take over but he must want good things for Newcastle if he is spending such an amount of money on the club."
I have tried to be adult about this - but failed. So.............................................
And yes, I have moved it to Other Footy.
