Performance wise, against one of the best sides in the world, I thought we showed some spirit and pride for the first time in a long while. Rooney was missed and Smith made no impact as a lone striker. The defence did well enough although Wes Brown was no susbstitute for Terry. Lampard has definitely lost his edge. Beckham made a difference to the side and the defence coped pretty well against some clever stuff from the Brazilians. Old story of defending a one goal lead not paying off once again. Room for improvement but better IMO.

Come on mate, it was dull and uninspiring wank AGAIN.
The personnel are not the issue, they are the best we can muster - problem is the boss and the coaches, the tactics and the organisation.
Rooney has not had a decent game for England since Euro 2004, he would not have made any difference. Fat Frank is Fat Frank - shithouse for England and ace for the Ruskies.
Beckham was his usual flashy self - always looking for the telegraphed punt from right to left, so easy to read that it didn't work once. A simple cross for the goal but I put that down to poor marking rather than anything that Beckham did.
We were fortunate that they played a sub-standard forward in Vagner and not Ronaldo, Fred, Adriano or Robinho up front, because Carragher may be a rock for Pool but shows his shit clogger side when asked to step up a level.
We can only pray that we lose to Estonia so prick-face has to quit.
I can now say with feeling - GET ALLARDYCE IN
At the end of the day, we could've put 27 past them and people would still engineer it so it was crap.
I thought we played well against one of the best sides in the world, it wasn't brilliant one touch football. And yes Alan Smith is wank. But it was a step in the right direction.
Would Lennon/Lampard/Gerrard have been able to put that freekick on a 20 pence piece for Terry to nod in? Would he fook.

He needs to buy Diouf's DVD from Amazon.Daxter wrote:Cole has to be the worst diver I have ever seen. If you going to do it all the fecking time then at least perfect it and make it look realistic and not like you have been shot.

Totally agree! It's been a long time since we've seen balls sprayed around like that from an Englishman, and Owen always seems to know just what's on Beckham's mind (which was probably were the fxck is Smith?)Bruce Rioja wrote:From what I've seen of the first 20 mins of the second half, David Beckham is absolutely rubbing McLaren's face into shit!
It's alright having a jet propelled kid zooming up and down the line, but if their have nothing at the end of it they are simply wasting their energy, and to be honest, I've seen nothing from Lennon or SWP since Beckham was snubbed. Maybe McLaren didn't take Beckham off to save him for midweek, maybe he took him off before he embarresed him any further. Beckham wasn't outstanding, but he was for from awful! And provided us with something England have seriously been missing.
Will someone pleeeeeeease grab McLaren, take him into a quite corner and don't stop slapping him until he realises that LAMPARD AND GERRARD DOES NOT WORK!! Gerrard played very well in the holding role, but that's no use to England, we need to see him were he is best, with darting runs towards the Brazilian goal. Why play Gerrard there when we have the likes of Hargreaves, Carrick and King who specialise in that position? Because God knows were Lampard was, was he playing cards on the halfway line with Smith?
Owen looks as if he's getting there, with some good movement, but is probably a few games short. Everyone gave Gerrard the MOTM, and though he did play very well, I personaly thought Terry was the best player on the pitch last night.
