For a bit of fun we're going to see what FM2007 version 7.02 has to say about our signings. Though Bolton's signings are often off the FM radar. It can tell us a lot more about the Big Four's obscure signings cause they're famous where they're from.

Jlloyd Samuel

Born in the Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago on 29/03/1981

His current level is listed as 130 as at July 2006 and his potential is set at 146/200 which is mid-grade prem-player level.
It says he is 180cm or 5ft11in tall and approximately 72kg at least til he goes out on the town with Nolan.

Noticeable stats - all out of 20 - are his temperament at 17. And thankfully he's not injury prone only 7, compared to Miss Fortune who was 17.

However, his only special move was "knocking the ball past his opponent" which leads me to believe he's not that well known.

For someone with only medium potential he has stats in all the right places for his position which is left back though he has 13 for his right foot and could be converted possibly.
Acceleration of 17 and pace of 16 mean he's almost as quick as Gardner. Stamina and workrate are both 15 so no slacker. Teamwork and Positioning are important for a defender and he's mid teens for most things including key defensive stats Workrate 15, Heading 14, Marking 12 and Tackling 14.

Technically well trained with Crossing 12, Dribbling 12, First touch 13, Technique 15.

I think he's got the stats of someone who was considered better then has his potential reigned-in because he bacame unfashionable at his club Villa.
Reading my FM Tarot I predict he'll be a decent signing. If the stats are right he's an athletic talented technical kind of defender who at best will become cultured. A poor man's Wayne Bridge.

Oh and I've never seen him play. So this is all I know about him other than he calls himself "Sweetboy".

Balls to that. More importantly in my first season as Villa manager I made one signing, Lucas Neill and won the League Cup and finished 6th. I’m now in quarters of Uefa Cup and am 2 points behind Arsenal with 8 games to go.

I think that proves just how shite FM is for comparing with real life. Great fun though. I enjoyed telling Wenger his side had no chance of winning the title then stuffing him 3-1. Shame I then lost 5-1 to Ipswich in the next game

Is your real name Martin O'Neill? Why are you playing as Villa?

Seems a strange choice, not Chelski or Arsenal with cash or style so I don't see the appeal.

It's better to play as a lower team. More of a challenge. That game is piss easy if you choose one of the big four.

if he's as good as those stats suggest, why couldn't he get a game at villa?

Any chance of updating the original post with the Dzemaili and Cid stats? Maybe even Harsanyi?

I once took Kidderminster to the Premiership.

Only to not buy anyone, not win a game, and STILL have a job!

It depends, i think people get confused when someone says that FM is useful in real life. The actual game itself isn't because it's just a game, but considering how many scouts they have. The stats at the begining should be fairly accurate. It's as good as a Villa fan coming on here and telling us what he thinks of him. Which i think is useful, especially for players we've never watched play.

PETE I am going to post Dzmelli and Harsanyi's stats but they're far from complete they've got lots of gaps for random stats so I don't think they've been scouted properly. Cid is comple-ish and the key stat there is pace of 6 acc of 9 which is sooooo sloooww. God I hope that's wrong.

As for JLloyd it looks like he was flavour of the month in 2005 and they attributed his stats at that time and then we he didn't get game time the next year they just lowered his potential by 10 or so points.
