Keanos finally lightened his pocket

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

maybe he was allowed 2x£2m players in which case he has half a mill left to play with - Campo for Sunderland

Is the fee definitely £3.5M? Reading signed him in January for £2M, not bad business at all!

Very good business for Reading, and a good move for him. He's been a talented player for a while – right-back, right-wing, central midfield – and I'm surprised he's moved on, although Reading make a profit, Halford presumably gets picked (he couldn't into a team Coppell was understandably loyal to).

Put it this way, I'd've been happy for a versatile young Englishman to come here (and I said as much when he went to Reading) but £3.5m illustrates why we don't often Buy British. Mind, when we do, folk act like the world's ending. I can't remember the last time there were such a highly-charged emotional atmosphere over a McCann.

How can folk make a judgement on a Prem player after 3 games.

The fee is £2.5m, rising to £3m - I guess if Sunderland stay up.

Its a funny one because Reading signed Halford and said they believed he was going to be a star in the making and would gently ease him into the fold, but he only started three games in 4 or 5 months, it kind of suggested to me that Reading had doubts about how good he really was, because if he is good enough surely he will play. And for them to sell him already suggests that they don't believe he is good enough and decided to get their money back. We will see this season.

But what is interesting is that Sunderland can splash £2.5m on a full back! I mean they need a lot of players and are strongly linked with Nugent for £5m plus. Seems like Sunderland have quite a transfer kitty this summer.
