Promising players getting unlucky.

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Away from Bolton...we had a player called Mark Maley. Right back, solid as you like. Had a bright future ahead of him, and had played for England at Schoolboy, U16, U17 and U18 level. Then John fecking Oster shot him in the eye. Never played again.
 'kin hell!

I saw Jeremy Bon play a few times for our stiffs at Gigg Lane, and thought 'wow - this boy's going to keep Jaaskelainen on his mettle', next thing you know is that he's done one. Warty's probably best to ask, but didn't we have to pull off a real smoke and mirrors affair to get Bon here in the first place? :conf:

Although I do recall Spooner going in goal at one point, I'm rather concerned for your sanity that you actually remembered the opponents that day! I am however pretty sure that it was Charlston Battery for whom Spooner played for in America between his 2 spells with RMI.

Whereas I appreciate your kind concern, Matt, a colleague of mine was 4th official that day so I remember it quite well. He ended up sending that crooked bastid that was Boston's manager off to the stands.

It delays your entry to the nut house for another week I suppose :)

Evans has gone to Crawley Town now IIRC, as if they haven't been screwed over enough in the past year already!

As mentioned on the previous page

To be fair, I think he was another one who we'd built up so much that he disappeared without a trace when things didn't work out, with Mickael Kaprielan (or however it is spelt) being another example, while Paul Wheatcroft was last known to be playing at Southport.

God we signed some shite strikers at that time  :)

I remember being on holiday in Turkey and the barman laughing at us when we told him we'd signed him.

To be fair, your mate has a point. Likewise, Nicky Weaver.

Bernard Mendy own goal? One of the most humiliating evenings I have ever experienced as a BWFC fan.

I've heard much the same about Paul Lake btw.

Seems to be a curse of the right back - let's hope Joey O doesn't fall in to the same trap.
