Shepherd's removal reminds me of Gartside's careful post-Quest quote "nobody currently employed by the club". On a wider note, though, BSA was appointed by Shepherd not Ashley, and the knives have already been unsheathed at SJP once. I see Sam's back in the meeja this morning with his annual complaint about the lack of action in the transfer window; we can only speculate on how tight the purse strings are being held

Newcastle United - just watched them beat Juventus 2-0, a great score line one would say then again because I watched all the match, I would be in a better position to say that it was a complete waste of time for the paying public to turn up and watch a kick about, a complete waste of time, but then again it gave the Geordies a chance to sing obsenertives about Dyer who in fact was their best player after coming on as a substitute, the barcodes first goal was gift from the referee who gave them a very soft penalty and the second was a 12 yard snap shot rebound from 18 year old Andy Carroll.
P.S: Why do supporters have to pay for friendly matches - apart from the obvious that is.
