McClaren Out !!!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

That's it.

Nothing to add.

Just would hate to lose the opportunity.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Put it this way - I wouldn't miss him with a doubled barrelled shotgun.

Agree wholeheartedly SOTWA - McClaren needs to see the qualifying campaign through....on the other hand, he must be better than BSA as he got the job in front of him....

England boss Steve McClaren has flown to the USA to check on the fitness of David Beckham in the hope he can play in the next Euro 2008 qualifer. (Mail on Sunday)

Nice work if you can get it.

Guess the phone wasn't working.

This is, truly, unbelievable.

He dropped the guy unceremoniously after the World Cup. He doesn't plAy him while he's playing quite well for REAL MADRID, then decides he's our saviour as he signs for LA Galaxy ... and now flies 10,000 miles to watchh him in a kick-about having played only 360m 'competitive' football in 6 months.

Now ... call me cynical ... but do we think the English FA &/or McLaren could be receiving financial inducements of some sort to select him, so to boost football in the USofA ??

McCLAREN OUT !!!

McClaren's desperate, SWP has underwhelmed in his last two games and he's got nowt else to do. If he thinks Beckham could help us qualify, I'm all for him going out there. Mind, I'm not sure lining up against Danny Cannoville will be the greatest fitness test.

In all seriousness, I can only hope that McClaren went as a jolly at his own time and expence. If he went on an official mission to watch a player that even I could tell you all about, having a kickabout with a bunch of actors then we are in more serious trouble under the tosser than I'd ever allowed myself to believe.

Perhaps McClaren has got a "bit on the side" over in the States?

Surely they're after blond beach bum Bug-driver Burgen Blinsmann?

And judging by his actions on first being appointed, if SMcC was having an affair Stateside he'd get Max Clifford to organise a press release with an exclusive for a red-top...

I see today that Alan Smith, the man rated by McLaren as a better striker than the likes of Davies, Walcott, Bent ect, is playing in defensive midfield for Newcastle.

McLaren Out!

It turns out that he didn't even watch the kick-about !!

To be fair (which, you will appreciate, is not my nature) he NOW says he went out to talk to him & to see him train .... which, oddly, is probably more relevant than watching him play a 14-a-side, flying goalies, no-offside kickabout.

Just.

If someone working for me, who knew all the in's & out's of a piece of equipment that he'd worked with for 10 yrs, went all that way, costing huge sums of money & large chunks of time, just to see if it was operating reasonably well ... and then never actually saw the equipment in action, just looked at it in situ' .... well, we'd want the costs back & I'd be arranging a Gross Misconduct action against him.

But I still hold that Beckham's now simply a merchandising tool, rather than a real football selection.
