From BBC Sport

Leeds United boss Dennis Wise will be offered a role in Newcastle's coaching set-up, BBC Leeds understands. Leeds refused to comment on speculation linking Wise with a job under Kevin Keegan, who returned for a second spell as Magpies manager earlier this month.

As I said in an earlier thread, this is a road accident in super slo-mo. Bring it on! :lmfao:

To step down from managing a club which (currently) suits his angry-outsider persona perfectly and is one point off an automatic place despite a points penalty, in order to take a lower-ranking job at a sinking ship staffed by dreamers, he'd be an utter numpty. No, even more so than you think. It's not even as if he'd be playing the long game by teeing himself up to replace Keegan, as when the messy Messiah ascends again a certain creosoting dullard will be airlifted in.

Agree DSB, he's better building his CV up at Leeds.

I remember when Chelsea came to train at my school in the mid-90s, a few friends and I being the cheeky scamps we were, kept shouting that his taxi was waiting.

That and getting Gullit's autograph anyway.

Heard Keegan on the radio earlier and he said 'you'll have to ask Chris Mort about Dennis Wise....'.

I think he's been brought in to actually run the team, because lets be honest Keegan is feckin clueless. And I think its been done without Keegan's blessing, by the sound of him on the radio.

Newcastle United eh?

Lithium anyone?

In that case, he's an utter numpty. So he should fit right in.

You never know - he may learn something.
And become Wise after the event.

First Keegan, now this idiot... Newcastle fans must be thinking, what's next? Glen Hoddle as the team psychic and Gazza as psychologist and fitness coach?

I'm currently wondering how much of this appointment was Keegan's doing. If it isn't to KK's liking, it wouldn't be at all out of character for him to flounce off.

But Delusion United are a big club with a botomless pit of money; how come they can't get a decent manager and never win anything? I mean, you'd think Ronaldhino and Maurhino would be up there in a flash to sort them out. Who'd be a Geordie when it comes to football?

Just seen a young fatbelly being interviewed on Sky. "Well, like, if Keegan can't bring the entertaining football we expect, I'm sure that Dennis will help."

If you get the chance, listen to Keegan's interview from this afternoon.

This excerpt does it no justice ...
Keegan himself would not be drawn on the subject of Wise at a Newcastle media briefing on Monday.

"Obviously, there are going to be some moves at this club, but I think the chairman Chris Mort has really got to come out and say what that's all about later this week."
It clearly happened behind his back and he knew nothing of it at all when asked, Certainly not the details.

... then this ; -
the former Chelsea and England midfielder has accepted an office-based position that will allow him to work closer to his family, who have remained in the south-east while Wise has been in Leeds.

It is believed that Wise will not be part Kevin Keegan's coaching staff at St James' Park and that negotiations with chairman Chris Mort have been ongoing for several weeks.

Wise is expected to take up a role at St James' Park similar to the one currently occupied by Frank Arnesen at Chelsea
fckg brilliant ... I love it, I just love it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Keegan's buggered off by next week !!

He must fancy KK's job

He must

I can't fathom it otherise....unless the trials and tribulations of LUFC have stressed him out to the max

Rumuors of four times his salry probably helped, the greedy b*stard

He could of got Leeds promoted after -15 and been an absolute hero...but he's jacked it in to stand over KK's shoulder (on some ladders naturally). Absolutely no ambition or self respect IMO.

Anyway BBC Leeds was hilarious on the way home...

There choices for manager? Jose (wonderland), Lucas Radebe, Alan Thompson (!!), Shearer(!!), David O Leary (), Jiohn Sheridan (bit more sensible), Andy Ritchie, Martinez....and of course...Fat Sam. Job could well be his....sh*t big team, money to spend, lower league football...and he aint harry basset so maybe. With Speed as asistant?
