Capello's England team thread
oh deary deary me.England: James, Brown, Ferdinand, Upson, A.Cole, Bentley, Jenas, Gerrard, Barry, J.Cole, Rooney
Q on SSN: Are you surprised that Capello isn;t speaking English to the press?
Mullery: Yes, continental managers are usually good at English, look at Sven, or Mourinho who could speak 4 or 5 languages.
Well duh Alan, Capello is Italian, English is pretty rare there, it's about as far away in Western europe as you'll get.
Thickety thicko.

Actually the distance from London to Rome is precisely the same as London to Stockholm. Northern Italy is closer.fatshaft wrote:Q on SSN: Are you surprised that Capello isn;t speaking English to the press?

Look at the amount of English managers who can just about speak decent English. We laugh at foreigners over here, but how many Englishmen speak more than their own language? "Hoy, Manuel, ego and bacono for two" (holds up fingers for emphasis, and shouts to make it clearer) hardly qualifies as another language.fatshaft wrote:Q on SSN: Are you surprised that Capello isn;t speaking English to the press?

Scandies learn English in school compulsorarily, Italians don't. For Italians there is more need to learn other languages as there is far less chance of English being the language they are most likely to need after their own.

Is this our mainly reserve side? Look like it on paper and playing like it on the pitch. We might have the edge on posession but the Yodelers are the better side up to now. Comedy hour again? Nothing up front and a shambles in defence. Way too slow in everything and what the fxxk is Rooney doing in the wall? Thank fxxk it's a friendly. It is, isn't it?
Bet Cappelo is delighted up to now......Oh, we scored. Ah well, game of two halves then?

Drop Richards for Brown, yeh. Now I think about it, makes COMPLETE sense.
Id hate to say it,
Davies would do a job for them toothless wideboys we call our international team
Don't think I've ever been so bored in my life. If it weren't for the bacon barms and Mark "state-the-obvious" Lawrenson's laughable attempts at commentating, I'd hang myself from my Great escape Video's tape.

I think you might have got your Coles mixed up. Cashley looks half the player he was at Arsenal. Joe has arguably been England's best player in the last 18 months. IMHO, of course.Batman wrote:oh deary deary me.England: James, Brown, Ferdinand, Upson, A.Cole, Bentley, Jenas, Gerrard, Barry, J.Cole, Rooney
Poor stuff. I like the font on the back of Switzerland's shirts though.
