Liverpool fans attack Hicks Jr

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Liverpool fans attack Hicks Jr

 I know that it was a small number of fans , but what do they hope to achieve by spitting at him and attacking his car.
Life is not like a box of chocolates , it is infact , like a box of chuck norris roundhouse kicking you in the face. And if you recieve a box of chuck norris , you always know what your gonna get.

If Megson had fell on his ar*e here do you think Garty may have needed a Police escort to and from the 'bok?
If you answer yes you just answered your own question.

Throwing a pint and spitting is not clever.
Walking into the Sandon with minders is downright stupid, the big Texan, like his father, needs to do his homework, what did he hope to achieve?
Get in the real world boys, this is a religion , this is over 100 years of history you are playing with, it might be just another way of spending daddy's money to you, but you found out quickly enough in the Sandon you dont mess with Liverpool Football Club, get on your horse Jr, and ride out of town.
Oh my god - do I need to even begin to comment on this one?

Leave the liverpool fans alone, they've had it hard enough.

Some more comments underneath the article:
Honest la, it wasn't me - it was Sankey
Michael Shields, Liverpool, England
No way would these have been Liverpool fans. Probably Chelsea, the NF, the police, UEFA, out-of-towners, Millwall, Everton fans and the Bulgarian justice system. Another special Anfield night by the sound of it.
Tony, Liverpool

There's no evidence of any damage to his car, given that he hightailed it out before most people could get out the pub, although he was swilled with beer and allegedly spat at.

liverpool fans normally are polite & respectful, i hope we dont become loutish & violent towards people we dissapprove of

john toher, galway, ireland

Don't worry John, it wasn't the Liverpool based Liverpool fans, it was you lot you little Irish devil
I was there and it was just a group of Irish lads on a stag do who were getting a bit out of hand after too much to drink. If the club want to stamp out this type of behaviour they should be looking at how these groups get match tickets.

If anyone takes any of the comments beneath these sorts of articles seriously then they need their heads looking at - most'll be from Evertonians/Mancs, or Liverpool fans with an axe to grind (like the fella blaming the Irish getting tickets...) I wonder how many people will have claimed to be there and seen him?

Tedious and pointless

I'm amazed that the average Sandon drinker would know what he looked like, although the four minders and Texan accent probably gave something away.

Yes, it's a bit sad (and if he was spat at then that's a shithouse trick) but to be honest I don't really blame people for fecking him off out the pub. Hicks/Gillett are persona non grata around Anfield these days, he must have been expecting a great deal of animosity.

aye, feck*, they've not given the manager enough money to spunk on second rate players have they? They've not looked at how they can give you a superb new stadium in which you can generate the income to spunk on more average players. Personally, I think they should have knifed the feck* and kidnapped his family for having the cheek to go in the pub that the club was formed in and speaking to the "true" liverpool fans so as to try and gain an understanding, who the feck does he thinks he is??

Talking out your arse as per usual, Commie:

They haven't given a penny to Benitez to sign players. Our transfer budget has been in line with previous seasons under David Moores (who personally loaned the club money (£8m I believe) to buy players the summer before last). With an increased TV revenue and continued good performance in the Champions League we have arguably spent less in real terms than in years past.

They haven't really done much in the way of looking at a new stadium - well, any more than anyone's done before them. They've been in charge for over a year and we're yet to have broken any ground on Stanley Park, although we've seen a fancy design, and then some stalling, and then a re-design because it cost too much and they were skint, and then some more stalling.

They haven't put any of their own personal fortunes into Liverpool and have just leveraged the club instead.

He's got every right to go into the pub where we were founded and have a look around and a drink and a chat, but if he doesn't want or expect people to have a go at him because of what his father and his business partner have done then he shouldn't've bothered going in. I'm not surprised the mood turned a bit, well, moody. Why do you think he's got minders with him to go in there in the first place? Don't notice Mike Ashley needing a gang of them on the terraces at Newcastle...

To take you up on your last point, Ashley has (in the 'real terms' scenario) taken Newcastle backwards.

He gave a net £9m to Allardyce (after promising much more), sacked said manager because of results and then appointed yesterdays man who appears hell-bent on taking the club down. He then appointed Dennis Wise over the head of his manager, and continued to make promises, none of which appear to have been fulfilled. And spent nothing in January.

Over in Liverpool, meanwhile, Hicks and Gillette have essentially maintained their status quo as a champions league team who look adequate at best in the league, spending a fair amount of money, whilst attempting to bring in another manager behind the back of the existing one, and not fulfilling their promises of a new stadium.

The two situations are almost identical, yet one can sit and drink with the fans, the other is driven out of town.

Protest all you like, that is your right and privelage in this country, but personal attacks and abuse are for the brain dead, and should be condemned as such.

They've done feck all - they took over in Feb/March last year, by which time we'd pretty much already qualified for the Champions League. Their off-pitch antics this season have destabilised the club no-end, and are close to jeopardising that Champions League team status quo that you claim they have maintained, and failed to deliver on a new stadium.

The spending is no different to what it was before - does that mean we spent a fair amount of money before? Yeah. I wish people would actually look at the figures before saying that the yanks have come in and 'spent big'. They've also 'recouped big' and all the funds came from LFC, and not G&H's pocket.

There are basic similarities between the two, but also fundamental differences, and I'd agree - anyone assaulting them (spitting or otherwise) is a braindead moron, but I'm all for hounding him out the pub and making sure he knows that he's not welcome.

The highlighted area highlights my point.

Ashley has done feck all at Newcastle, he's not being hounded out of pubs(anyone try talking to him?). That is the action of the morons who probably percieve Liverpool as 'a religion' or ''more important than life or death".

Tosh. You're a football club like all the rest of us, only with more fans than some others.

Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

I was countering your 'they've maintained blah blah'. They, personally, have done nothing to contribute to any success on the pitch - we qualified for this season's CL irrespective of any input of theirs (they hadn't been at the club long enough), and should we qualify for next year's it will be more in spite of them than because of them. They haven't maintained anything, they've only destabilised things.

There are also key differences between Ashley and G&H - the investing of personal funds, for one. Attendance at games. Personal investment (of the emotional kind). They are a distinctly different type of owner to Ashley (not least because there's two of them).
