UEFA Cup tonight

A mild gloom has set in seeing how relatively poor both teams are tonight at Ibrox. OK, Rangers have a few injuries and suspensions at the moment but I can't help thinking what if...
Still, at least it's good to see leg-end Andy Walker in the studio, even if he has to promote the Rangers away-leg compo through gritted teeth.

Think our ressies would take them, LGM? Christ, given how important the next two league games are, Meggo would be picking the U12s...
Here's the plan. Stay up. Consolidate the squad next season and, as a safe mid-table team, go balls-out in both cups and win one of 'em in 2010. 2011, UEFA Cup winners. Simple

Went to the county ground in Leyland tonight to watch us against United.
I know Warthog will probably disagree with me, but 3 or 4 of our young'uns look quite promising (certainly never outclassed by yerniteds petulant youngsters, even when playing 70 mins with 10 men). I think we could be lucky and see 1 or 2 make it to the squad.
Oh, and we HAVE to keep hold of Dzemalli and allow him time - head and shoulders above anything else on the pitch.
Edit:this seemed a bit random at first read, my point being our future looks a little brighter than its appeared all season. (cue demoralising tw*tting at spuds

)

Disagree on Dzemalli.
Out of interest. which of the others were you impressed by? A new thread on the Trotters forum might be the best place to answer.

It'll be the side we beat two years ago competing in the Uefa Cup final, Zenit. They are currently 4-0 up against another side who couldn't beat the mighty Whites, Bayern Munich.

So in theory we should be playing ourselves in this semi.

We'd still find a way to lose.

Pretty mediocre stuff, bags of cheating and card waving by the Fioros. Ranger sent off for touching foreheads, Fioro player went down like a bag of. Can't see Rangers beating Zenit on that display. Sorry Fatshaft.

Zenit's main striker is out of the final, might not be TOTAL carnage...

Zenit were impressive at the Reebok before weather conditions reduced the match to a farce.
They are the current Russian champions and will be in the Champions League next season. From the bit I've seen of them, they'll be a handful for anyone. Highlights on ITV at 11.35 btw.

bayern will be gutted. that's a reet good spanking considering they don't particularly need to focus on the league

They were pretty impressive after too. You might say the weather worked just a little in our favour that night, cough.

Spurs had 27 shots against us according to the BBC but we still hope to beat Sunderland.
Well done to Rangers, they are on for a fantastic quadruple having already won one cup and reached two more finals. With the win on penalties it looks as if they have luck on their side, just wonder how they are going to fit 6 league games and 2 cup finals into their fixture list.

The bars of Manchester are stocking up on Buckie as we speak. I think I might move away for a month.

Aye, a load of rampaging, skirt wearing, drunken Scots causing havoc in the city centre.
It'll be like a scene from a St Trinians movie.
