Nope, just a fan, came through Spuds youth after Lilleshall, but said when he to ull went he always wanted to play for Hull.BWFC_Insane wrote:He is a Hull lad. Fair play to him I always thought he was an ok player, so to go there at 30 was pretty good of him especially when you think he was dropping from Prem to Div 1 (as is). I guess however its fairly easy to make a decision like that when you've already made all the money you need in life

Barmby is indeed a Huller, as BWFCi points out (but signed straight for Spuds, as DLH corrects). My mate runs a sports centre in Hull and when NB signed for Spurs the lad had his leaving do there, broke onto the five-a-side pitch and started showing off. My mate's then boss comes out, asks WTF he's doing. "D'you know who I am? I'm a Spurs player!" "I don't care if you're Danny f*cking Blanchflower, get off that pitch!!"
PS I don't think he was on what you'd term a Third Division wage when he dropped down to join them. That said, I doubt say Harry Kewell would do summat similar

Bet the Oldham mob are rubbing their hands together in glee with that sentiment.

That was mis quoted, he actually said "I'll decide my future over a game of Texas 'old'em"hoboh2o wrote:Sorry fella, Scholes has decleared he wants to finish his career with Oldham.Bruce Rioja wrote:I bet Norman Collier would've had a keen interest in it too.hoboh2o wrote:David Lee's Hair wrote:but said when he to ull went he always wanted to play for Hull.

Not at all, hoboh2o. I was remarking on DLH's somewhat Collier-esque, stuttering delivery from which I can decipher not a solitary jot. .hoboh2o wrote:Sorry fella, Scholes has decleared he wants to finish his career with Oldham.Bruce Rioja wrote:I bet Norman Collier would've had a keen interest in it too.hoboh2o wrote:David Lee's Hair wrote:but said when he to ull went he always wanted to play for Hull.

Well he would as he's from Hull - unless that's partially what you were getting at, along with the DLH stutteration (copyright Gertie).Bruce Rioja wrote:I bet Norman Collier would've had a keen interest in it too.hoboh2o wrote:David Lee's Hair wrote:but said when he to ull went he always wanted to play for Hull.

The ever-so-slightly-humerous pensionable comedian now resides in the charming village of Welton, home of the A63's most famous accident blackspot (probably due to the number of east-bound drivers executing illegal U-turns as they realise they are fast approaching the outskirts of Hull).
Having said that - up the Tigers!

Browny takes advice from BSA... and, intriguingly, is allowed to borrow Arsenal's training ground. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/cc ... ationwide1

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
