I'm with Fatshaft on this one, Mrs Schweinsteiger is magnificent. It just doesn't get any better than the blonde Bavarian women.communistworkethic wrote:some sort of oxymoron???fatshaft wrote:It's a close run thing with the Pighumper's girlfriend though.freeindeed wrote:Check out Mrs Van der Vaart...

Which reminds me, I'd better get onto booking this year's Oktoberfest trip.
I have no idea what 'Steiger' means in German... I suspect it's a boring as farmer/keeper, but if it did mean humper then yes...communistworkethic wrote:if she's hot then is he a pighumper? hence "some sort of oxymoron"mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:I'm with Fatshaft on this one, Mrs Schweinsteiger is magnificent. If you put Steiger into one of the translation engines is comes up with foreman, in which case the closest translation would be pig-herd, I guess. However, The Observer today says the Steige comes from the Middle German 'Stige' meaning barn. So, his surname would then mean someone who lives in a barn with pigs, and probably sleeps with them...mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote: I have no idea what 'Steiger' means in German... Right, I'm bloody sick of this and I think that it's about time that it was dragged under the light. For me an 'oxymoron' is a term that's used to express something by highlighting the exact opposite. Terribly good, splendidly poor, wise fool etc. These days the term 'oxymoron' just seems to be being used to describe an everyday contradiction.communistworkethic wrote:if she's hot then is he a pighumper? hence "some sort of oxymoron"mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:I'm with Fatshaft on this one, Mrs Schweinsteiger is magnificent. That was my understanding too. I'd check my OED but I need it to put the George Formby grill back on top of the cupboard.Bruce Rioja wrote: Right, I'm bloody sick of this and I think that it's about time that it was dragged under the light. given that oxymoron is a subset of "contradiction in terms" I stick by my original and exact phrasing as being accurate.Bruce Rioja wrote:Right, I'm bloody sick of this and I think that it's about time that it was dragged under the light.
