Soccer Aid

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I thought the game was great to watch and I was really impressed with the performance of Wanderers fan Danny Jones from McFly.

some of the celebs are decent players, the one that stood out for me was Brian Lara, a big surprise at left back, not least because he was right-footed.

Decent entertainment for a good cause. Impressed with the commitment of non-footballers Jones, who was tireless up and down the wing, Chris Fountain and Jonathan Wilkes in defence. Everybody, even the pros, really entered the spirit of the thing. Logan and Lara were impressive for the Rest.

Full agreement. This lot looked like they gave a toss.

Shearer for England!

And sadly, I'm only half joking...

A good cause yes, but the cynical side of me wonders a) how much said celebs were paid in appearance fees? and b) why don't said rich celebs just donate the money themselves?

All the program showed was how some muppets will watch owt on TV (I watched for 2 minutes before promptly switching off) and how low Allardyce's career has sunk.

Don't be daft, who needs compassion when you've got fantastic marketing opportunities in a large televised charity event.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Allardyce can't even get a job doing real punditry now. HA!!

Maybe he should get a job on a sitcom or something, ITV natch.
