On a happier note, has anybody been watching the ITV doc'y narrated by Stuart 'a fond farewell' Hall following Accrington Stanley's fortunes?
Is it me or does it make you long for the days long gone?
Cue misty eyed ramblings...Weekly cries of 'Bloody 'ell Darby', viewing Big Trevor Morgan as a quality target man, Chic Charnley (maverick genius), thinking Nicky Brookman would make the big time, steam rising from the piss troughs in the old Burnden paddock?
PS What was the name of the left back we bought from Fulham who gave away 'the penalty that never was' in front of the away end at Prenton Park? Can't remember for the life of me. He was useful though, he was.

Aye - Martin Pike. Thanks for that Jaffka.
We lost out to somebody when we should've signed him. Got Bryan Small not long after, I think.

That was a good number of years later, in fact when Jimmy Phillips was in his second spell.
At this time we had Phil Neal, Jimmy Phillips (first spell) and Barry Cowdrill.
