Goal went in for forest, he blew for a penalty cancelling out the goal ....... Penalty was missed, went out for a forest corner, goal went in, he blew up for a foul against the scorer - All this in injury timemofgimmers wrote:Like what?boltonboris wrote:Little bit of controversy!! haha!! You're shitting me!jmjhb wrote:It was the same ref which oversaw the game between Reading and Watford with the 'goal'
In my view he was right about the first "goal". When you watch the replay he had clearly blown for the penalty before the ball broke to the guy who "scored" on the back post. I can only begin to imagine how the referee felt when the ball went to the guy who put it away. I bet it all developed in slow motion! And it wasn't his fault that that nice person missed the penalty.FD wrote:The most bizarre reffing I've seen in ages.
The first goal should have stood, and it wasn't a pen.
The second goal was a screaming header, and should have stood.
Comedy reffing.
By "ghost" goal I am assuming you refer to the one at Watford. Any referee relies heavily on his assistant for any call on offside or a ball crossing the goal line. From the referee's position he must be very sure of himself to overrule his assistant's call. He doesn't see any action replay. I have never seen a "ball across the line" situation where defenders do not vehemently argue their case - so why should he allow the Watford players to overrule his assistant? The assistant got it wrong - regally. The assistant is a lot more experienced than this particular referee, by the way. What would you have done in the referee's position in this case?Tombwfc wrote:I accept that on the ghost goal it wasn't all his fault, but it was his call. Surely he must have had some kind of view on it?
For someone who was being hailed as some kind of saviour of refereeing at the start of the season, he's having a horrific time of it.
Comedy performance today. Commies right, it was like he was just guessing.
first goal, yes he blew early so was correct that the goal didn't stand, but what did he blow for??????????????????????Zulus Thousand of em wrote:In my view he was right about the first "goal". As for the second goal, well I cannot defend him on that one. There was not an infringement, of any kind.
As for the Watford game? Blame his assistant, not him.
Stop wasting our question marks!communistworkethic wrote:first goal, yes he blew early so was correct that the goal didn't stand, but what did he blow for??????????????????????Zulus Thousand of em wrote:In my view he was right about the first "goal".
