Ball-boy assist

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."

I remember Chinny Hill slagging a ballboy off for something similar, much to the chagrin of the rest of the spluttering panel.

Quite right. If I remember correctly, Jimmy Hill blamed a ball girl for Liverpool getting a late equaliser in the FA Cup at Blackburn. She allegedly threw the ball in too quickly and the large-chinned gentleman had her in tears after the final whistle for claiming she had costed her team the win. He was forced to apologise to her later in the week. And probably give her a kiss on the cheek for the red-tops. Which possibly traumatised her more.

Aye, ultimately led to an own-goal in the cup tie in 1991, I think, in the dying seconds. We beat them in the replay.
