Another UTD love in, how Ronaldo can be in there when by most UTD fans admission he's had a poor season is beyond me.

This is what happens when you nominate players in December. It's like deciding the MOTM award at half time!

Giggs has been good, but hasn't even started a quarter of United's matches this year. Sentimental.
Vidic...again, he was fantastic up to December and in the start of the new year. Folded disasterously in the last month.
Ferdinand...I'll give em that.
Ronaldo...oh just f*ck off. F*ck right off.
Gerrard...probably only in the list because Zidane rated him the best in the world recently. had a good season though no mistake.
Van Der Sar...well, it's quite easy to concede goals when you haven't a shot to save, but as soon as the defence creaked the door has been brought down, with EVDS being found out. Shot big time, not even in the top five 'keepers in the Prem.

Hegeland, Lampard, Jagielka, Alonso, Torres, should all feel very aggrieved.

And how Fellaini hasn't been nominated for the young player award is anyone's guess.

Also, Evans and Rafael have played 20 games between them. Good players aye, but they haven't even mustered a quarter of a season each this term! ARGH.

It takes the piss. It really does. Looking at those nominations you'd think United were going to win the league by a good 20 points!

What about Gary Cahill for young player?

He's 23 now. Does he still count as 'young' in the PFA's eyes?

My player of the season thus far has been Torres, no mistake. He's been immense.

For him to not even make the list is something of a farce.

I really hope Ronaldo wins it. Just to prove what a complete and utter farce it is.

These are voted upon by the players at Christmas.

I thought the same, as I posted above, but an article on f365 seems to think it is in Feb/March

Don't see why they have to vote so early, all it takes is someone to nip down the training grounds and the players fill in a slip?

EvdS is the one that made me stop doing whatever it was that I was doing when I heard. This season he's been every bit as poor as Seaman was when he hadn't realised that it was passed his time to give the game up either.

At the time of voting, Van der Sar was unbeaten in about 12 games.
Hence his nomination.

Players could vote by text after the penultimate league game IMO.

Sorry no Bolton players make the list, but however our friends at Setanta mention the exclusion of THREE Bolton players.

Good read...

It only mentions two...? Or am I missing something, which happens more often than not.

Tim Cahill was mentioned, I think there was some confusion over names mate... Worry not. I got ya back!

Aren't the nominations for the previous CALENDAR year, as opposed to the current season?

That may be why it's skewed.

Yep the players vote ! no wonder the list is so poor.
It makes me wonder that perhaps its the england players that stop the likes of Davies, Cahill & Taylor getting past the long squad.........
