Interesting article. But christ it sounds like a crackpot operation. Surely in these days a simple computer modelling program could be used to do it 99% automatically in the same way that say school timetables are done? Its simply a set of rules that need to be inputted and modelling the distance between grounds is hardly rocket science?

Ha! but ain't you forgetting the imput to ensure skys superslam Sundays etc, they gotta rig the fixtures to the tune of the paymasters!!

Indeed but that is merely one of the "rules" that would be entered into the software for it to compute.
