WELL DONE ENGLAND!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

WELL DONE ENGLAND!

Post by Soldier_Of_The_White_Army » Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:12 pm

For making it to the final. Talk about a game of two halves! The second the Swedish equalised I thought that was it, but they kept plugging away and made it to penalties.

Mmmmmm....semi final-England-Stuart Pearce-penalties-Our penalty taker slipping at the last second and skying our first. Anyone else feel like just turning the TV over there and then?

But well done to the rest of our takers who kept cool heads to see us through, it was obvious that Pearce (who is really impressing me since taking the job of under 21's manager) had been spending plenty of time getting his team taking penalties.

We've lost both strikers and our keeper, but at least we are finally in a cup final.

Well done boys! Now bring the trophy home.

Muamba subbed. Poor performance despite making 43 passes in the game.
Was right all along

He was subbed to get a good penalty taker in at the end. He helped hold off the Swedes with 10 men so he can't have been that bad (though I did not see the game).

Germans walked all over us. Tweny minutes and we looked like making a game of it. Softest second goal ever, worst miss in memory from Wagner but even with ten men they wanted it. We never looked lik we did. Switched off after number three went in.

Even with the result, I thought Muamba broke up the German play up brilliantly.
