Dean Ashton

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Dean Ashton

West Ham supporting mate of mine reckons that Dean Ashton's playing career is now over, due to his ongoing injury problems. Insurance claims have been filed by the club and an official announcement to be made soon.

If this is true then it's a shame. I did enjoy watching him when he was firing on all cylinders.

Yes the potential to become a top player was always there. Shame.

... and one who, while still playing with Crewe, Big Sam just couldn't see being a success.

Maybe not with the right agent ?!?!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It's a great shame as he could've been a real top drawer player for club and country.

I guess that's the downside of professional football, you might be paid a lot but it can be a very short career.

Similar rumours doing the rounds on the West Ham forums. A real shame if true.
