When Lancashire rivals meet in crucial league matches there is much more at stake than three points - local pride, bragging rights until next season, loyalty, passion, determination!!

The next BIG Lancashire derby match is this Saturday, 20th February when Chorley FC of the UniBond Division One North play hosts to league-leaders Lancaster City. And to add more spice to this Lancashire hot-pot, Lancaster City's manager, Tony Hesketh can expect a hostile reception as he returns to the club he left as manager at the end of last season, taking a clutch of players up the M6 with him.

The game kicks off at 3.00pm at Chorley's Victory Park, and a bumper crowd of about 400+ is expected. Admission prices are Adults £7.00, concessions £3.50, accompanied children FREE!! As a special offer, Bolton Wanderers' season ticket holders will be admitted for only £3.50 on production of a current Wanderers season ticket at the turnstile.

Come along and enjoy a few beers in the social club before the game, re-live the days of standing on the terraces and walking around the ground at half time, get close up to the action and give our local lads your support!!

In these difficult financial times, non-league football needs all the help and support it can get - another 100 or so supporters would make a massive difference to the weekly finances of a club like Chorley. When the Wanderers are playing away or are without a Saturday game, your local non-league club would welcome your support and I'm sure you will be impressed by the standard of play and the entertainment value.

I've been to a fair few non-league games in my time and the atmosphere is usually cracking. I've paid a lot more than £7 quid for the pleasure too. Standing behind the goal the team you're supporting is attacking for both halves of the game is a rare treat as well.

We should be okay for this afternoon. Is is cold, but not freezing and the ground near our house is quite soft.

Nowt wrong with the top rec', spoilt you were! Especially if they are sponsored by The Little Chippy and so can presumambly scab free chips at the end. This is making me long for home, and I was only bloody there yesterday.

Now if you were to say the bottom rec, a couple of very decent pitches down there, mon ami.

Back from Victory Park and an absolutely superb game between Chorley and Lancaster. Chorley were so unlucky to lose it 2-1 near the end but they really only have themselves to blame for some very poor marking. £7 and a Saturday afternoon very well spent indeed.

Disappointing result but a great game!

Very good attendance - 438.

About 30 Wanderers season ticket holders took advantage of the £3.50 admission offer, along with 14 Rovers, 10 PNE and 8 'Latics season ticket holders. A big 'Thank you' to all who came along.

Next Saturday is the big local derby, Chorley V Leigh Genesis (formerly Horwich RMI) 3.00pm kick off

A hard-fought 0-0 draw - anything but boring. I'm amazed that both sides, and especially Woodley, finished with 11 men on the field.
In goal for Chorley? A young man by the name of Ritchie Branagan, looking like a right chip off the old block - catching crosses on the penalty spot, one last-ditch save on the line, it was like watching his dad. I hope he goes on to do well.
