Think it's gonna be an interesting summer of transfer goss.

Fisrt things first, how much bloody money do Birmingham think they have?

£8m for Insomnia.
£10m for Carlton Cole.

Could do without boys like that spending a chuck load of money

The IReland/£40 million - Gerrard/Torres swap thing looked interesting, but thats Citeh, so fantasy gossip or whatever

Good points on Brum - quite sneaky with their cash, might pick up some relative bargains (i.e. half of what a team harping on about being loaded might pay). And toon as well, playing the 'got no cash' line. Really?

Haves and Have nots (in terms of cash) will be interesting

Villa - have
Arsenal - have and may spend?
Blackburn - have not...though Santa Cruz money still kicking around?
Brum - have
Chelsea - have
Everton - have, but not enough to threaten the foreign backers
Fulham - Uefa Cup won't have made them a fortune...have not?
Liverpool - Have not, can't afford to change boss?
City - !!!
United - Expect to see Fergie spending on a couple of players, Benzema?
Toon - I reckon they will spend a bit on the sly...still a have not though relativel speaking
Stoke - ???
Sunderland - have
Tottenham - have
West Brom - will they splash the cash this time??
Hammers - have not
Wolves - think they will spend some this summer, can Mick attract the players?

I'll put this post at the top of the thread, and then I can just quote apposite bits from it when the time's appropriate:

Any paper/gossip that proposes a 'swap' deal is talking balls - there must be 1000 of these rumoured every summer (sometimes in a player + cash manner), yet how often do players actually get 'swapped' in a transfer?

You must be joking, Liverpool don't have that sort of money, there's no way that we're buying X

99% of what you read is bullshit - don't take it so seriously.

Articles without quotes from any of the parties? See above, and add 1%.

Most of the above bets are off when involving Man City, however :)

Be very careful here Blurred, because when we paid for Elmander, Braaten was considered part of the deal. And if he wasn't, then Elmander's value just got ratcheted up by a few million. And then there'll be fun and games on here.

He's available for the right price, by the way. Elmander that is. You'll be needing a new striker, won't you?

Insomnia is a cracking player, shame we can't afford him really.

Theme so far seems to be:

Everyone at Liverpool - Out.

Everyone not at City - To City.

Fabregas to Barca?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010 ... a-transfer

Is this going to scupper Wilshire's burning desire to be a Wanderer again next season?

Hmmm... rather depends if Yaffle is gonna splash the cash this close-season or not... I know there are always rumours he might - and then he doesn't - but he'll be under some local pressure to do so...

Sky Sports News reading out texts from angry fans saying Fabregas is "no better than all the rest of them" if he decides to return to Barcelona, the club nearest to his birthplace, the club he supported as a boy, the club where he attended his first match aged nine months, the club he signed for at age 10.

Ah, spurned football fans. Particularly child-catcher Arsenal fans. Keebaab must be lovin' it, and I can see why.

My tip is Chelsea to get rid of Drogba. Not a rumour, just a thought.

It looks like Arsenal are going to try their hardest to hold on to him, according to this news story. (Or hold out for the biggest price, one of the two). If they do get £40-50 million for him Wenger will have to spend, surely?

nice wedge off the stadium debt...

and what's the point of "grooming" kids if you're just gonna sign over their heads?

And what's the point of "grooming" kids if your consistent failure to win silverware results in them wanting to move on?

So - the red-nosed one says he won't be signing anyone cos he is trusting in the development of young 'uns over the last few years - well - except maybe one...

so - i doubt that's cahill then.... Selling Fibreglass might leave Yaffle with cash to burn...

He takes a good throw-in though.. Reminiscent of Okochas eventual role by Allardyce

He's been dogshit for years. Like has been said, his only purpose is to trot round the pitch and take throw ins.
