David Villa to sign for Barcelona

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Great signing and a fairly decent price in todays crazy market.... Possibly the best striker around

I wonder how he fits into their front 3 . . . and where does this leave Zlatan?

On the bench, you'd imagine.

Nope, but Mancini signed him for Inter, so you just never know.

£34m for a 28 year old who's had the best years of his life on someone else's pitch? Hmmm, not sure it's as bargainous as some people are making out.

Thats the usual pattern of up and coming rich teams though isn't it? Buy big name players who are late twenties early thirties, looking for one last pay day? Its what Chelsea did to "establish" themselves. Ibrahimovich strikes me as an identikit City signing for me.

He's reaching his prime... 4 years in him as a world class performer yet!

Or are you bitter because he laughed out of Valencia a few years back...

... Oh and he's better than his much coveted compatriote

Well if reports are to be believed then Thierry Henry is heading Stateside, which leaves Messi, Zlatan & Villa with Bojan settling for a sub role.

Fabregas next?

And Pedro, who has been brilliant for them. Also if Fabregas goes, wouldn't surprise me to see Iniesta play wide a lot.

And Villa is fecking special.

I dunno - they kind of stuttered at the end of last season as usual...

Should give them more attacking options, Zlatan's inclusion vs Inter was an error in both legs...

£60million plus Eto'o was the error!

Messi Zlatan Villa

Would be the front 3.

Henry is going.

You'd have Villa as one of the wide men? Nah, I don't think they've finished dealing in Catalunya yet

Bitter about Valencia, eh?

I just don't happen to think that it's such a great deal as everyone else is suggesting. He's on the top of his game, definitely, and up in the top 10 strikers in the world for my money, but whether he can keep his current form up until he's 32 is debateable.
