Hello there guys. I write the Arsenal blog Gunnerblog.com, and am doing a new series of posts entitled 'Ready Or Not', about some of the young players we had out on loan last season. You can see the first example, on Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, here.
I would really appreciate it if some of you could find the time to answer the following questions about Jack Wilshere. I'd do my best to use any submissions in the final post.
If you're really helpful, I'll even have a word with Arsene and see if you can have him back.

How big an impact did JW make at Bolton?
Not a huge one by any means, but he improved our passing game by always being available for a pass using his intelligence and his obvious confidence
What are his main strengths and weaknesses as a player?
He's confident (as mentioned) he has a great low centre of gravity maing him harder to shrug off the ball than you'd expect. Good technique and an eye for a pass. Bad point is his tackling.. They obviously don't practice getting the ball off opponents legally at your training ground. It's either a horror tacle or a complete miss! Wilshere's no exception
What is his best position?
Middle of a 5, not much defensive repsonsibility and just let him roam, looking for gaps, he'll keep plugging away without always succeding.
Which top flight players does he remind you of?
Scholes of yesteryear, popping up all over the place always wanting the ball and making late runs into the box.. Nowehere near as gifted as Scholes' mind, and despite his age advantage, I can't see him getting to that standard (no bad thing, he's one of the true greats)
Do you think he could make it at Arsenal?
Definitely... Unless he gets back into training and snaps everyone in sight. "I learnt that off Super Kev" he'll say. Wenger will be horrified and demand Diaby break his leg immediately

I'd agree with all of that, Boris...one of a five or off a striker... except the last bit - he won't make it at Arsenal

Good assessment from Boris. The lad's willing and seemed to fit in well with the Bolton players. They'd all like to see him back which is a good indication of how they see him. Holds the ball well and is always looking for it rather than just running aimlessly around. His ability to change the direction of play is a real plus. Be good to get him back.
