Pool could soon be in a whole lot of trouble but ......

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

.... would Liverpool in Adminstration be a good kick up the backside for the Premierleague???

Why RBS looks set to own Liverpool FC http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters ... liver.html
With the 15 October deadline looming for Royal Bank of Scotland, Liverpool's main creditor, to decide whether to take control of the club, most bidders would surely prefer to wait for the fire sale.

Which is why it looks increasingly likely that Liverpool will - before too long - be the property of Royal Bank of Scotland and the US bank Wachovia (which provided around 25% of the bank debt).

There remain big imponderables, however.

One is whether Royal Bank of Scotland can take control without the business falling into administration - which would lead to a nine-point deduction for Liverpool to its Premier League tally (and, right now, would leave it with an interesting minus four points, which is a bit surreal).
It would be a strange situation for the club to be in but perhaps some big names (e.g. Pool and United) need to go into Administration for the legaue to sort out its ownership rule and to find a way for clubs to operate within their budgets.
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

If some of the big names (Pool, United) got relegated, I think people might finally wake up then. You can't spend beyond your means and build success on a foundation of debt and expect everything to turn out OK.

From what I remember from when this was in the news a few weeks ago, they wouldn't go into administration and they wouldn't get any kind of penalty.

Is that because, from the 15th, they're a publicly owned club and, therefore, The People's Club?

If so, I really do hope they die in a Paris car crash.

Someone will buy them before the A-word appears in big, bold, neon print. The Premier League'll make sure of that.

I'm sure I heard Alan Green say (on 606) - "We simply can't let a club like Liverpool go into administration, that would be wrong for them and totally wrong for the game..."

Northern Ireland's favourite team going into administration - no chance.

The PL would be scared of docking them points, like at the weekend, when their captain elbowed a bloke in the face and nowt happened about it.

He's half right. It'd be wrong for us but totally right for the game. Possibly the best thing that could happen in years.
