Megson Watch

This is the place to log the Ginger Mourinho's progress as he propels Sheffield Wednesday into the Premier League and ultimately Europe. It will become a focus point, even a shrine, for all Bolton Wanderers fans who miss his unique motivational skills, man management style, PR acumen, fan bonding and his smiling face in general.

It may be a slow-burning thread, until he gets his feet under the table and starts to implement his "interesting" style of management. It could then become as popular as the legendary Benitez thread. Let's see.

Oh, and in the unlikely event that he is successful, we can always delete the thread! :oyea:

In the meantime carry with you the views of an excited Wednesday fan on their forum.

He never stood a chance at Bolton..You never wanted him anyway,,,Gave him nothing but stick whilst he was there...This is his footballing home..He will be a legend here!!!

Hope triumphs over experience - and we all know that it's the hope that kills you.

I must admit, its like deja vu all over their forum at the moment, though granted he's improved his PR skills no end.

He's got them all convinced he got us into Europe, had us in the top half, beat Man U regularly....

I've even seen the first example of the "who else do you suggest we get?" post on their forums. No doubt it will soon be other fan's fault that are holding the team back, and that playing 9 fullbacks and two defensive midfielders is a virtue, given the current circumstances.

Its a mark of the man that it in the press interview for his homecoming/dream job it took him about 17 seconds to mention us in his usual bullshit way. I'm sure you would love to manage Wednesday in Europe Gary. Maybe they should reappoint Alan Irvine to give you half a chance?

They came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against nine-man MK Dons.

Gary Megson wrote:never before has a team come back from 2-0 down against 9 men... when I arrived here - we were two goals down - and I have raised the level of the club right back to 2-2. In fact it's the first time sheff wed have ever achieved a draw in the last 30years - no other manager has ever achieved this. I have 1ppg - which - compared to all other managers - is champions league form. did you know we were 2-0 down when I arrived? i'm glad bolton lost today - I'm over them - really I am - get in!!

He's averaging a point a game!

How familiar that sounds...

But the football we play is just the same. Ask Caps.

Anyway, with two-birds-with-one-stone in mind, why don't we lend/give/pay them to take Joey O off us? He's well liked round them parts, and as a double bonus Megson can play him on the wing.

Wonder whether Gavin Mccann is looking for a game at the mo?

Does nobody else feel sorry for the Owls fans? No idea what they've let themselves in for...

Did you hear his interview with BBC after the Rochdale game?

Negative, dour and uninspiring - he's not changed.

Most of them actually wanted him as their manager!!! The few who didn't were lambasted for not being loyal.

Saying that, Megson is a popular ex-player of theirs so they were always going to give him a chance. I wonder how long it will be before they are chanting for him to be sacked?
