Just seen this

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

I lived in Ayr for two years on and off, and brought back two bits of information:

1) Scottish Junior football is madness at the best of times.

2) Cumnock is one of the lairiest places in the world.

This sounds like the average christening in Cumnock.

Lmao. Used to live near Troon and KeeeeeeBaaaaaab is spot on - junior football is mental. Some places in Ayrshire can be, shall we say, a little strange and these two are big local rivals - be more surprised if there wasn't any aggro. Our lawyer used to play as a winger for one of the junior teams in his younger day and said that rival fans used to encroach on the pitch, trying to trip him up or kick him when he was playing out wide.
The junior cup final is taken very seriously and was televised every year when I lived up there. As an outsider, I didn't really get it. Some of the better supported junior teams used to attract crowds that Scottish Div 2 and 3 clubs could only dream about, however.
