Liverpool laughing stocks?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Kop cop it from Klopp

Klopp complaining that "Fortress Anfield" isn't what it used to be ... or he thought that it was.
The Liverpool manager, glanced at his watch and anticipated a surge towards the Kop. It has been sapped over recent years. The German looked bemused as the stadium emptied, as the tradition of seeking an early commute is more pressing than yelling on the players in search of another goal.

This, one could only conclude, was not the venue Klopp had read and heard so much about in the European folk tales. He may have to lead Liverpool into a Champions League semi-final before he sees that kind of force again.

“After 82 minutes, I saw so many people leave the stadium, I felt pretty alone at that moment,” said Klopp. “We decide when it is over. Between 82 and 94 minutes, you can score eight goals if you want but you have to work for it.”

Klopp clarified he was not blaming nor criticising the supporters – it was a point he stressed twice – but, inadvertently or not, the observation opened an existing wound within Liverpool’s fan base. Klopp is certainly not the first to remark on the habitual early leavers, but he is definitely the most esteemed and bulletproof. It will be a bruise to the ego of Anfield that Klopp does not sense the same frenzied emotion for 90 minutes within his new home as he did in Dortmund.

“I’m not disappointed with the fans,” Klopp insisted. “We have to learn that we are responsible and with 82 minutes gone, nobody can leave the stadium. A minute before the final whistle, anything can happen and that is what we have to show the fans. We didn’t."
Add that to the fact that Stevie Me is back in town and the TV and fans seemed almost as interested in him than the game. Rumours abound that he wants to return (big surprise) .... and he "never realised how hot it was in LA .... nor how far the away games were and how much time he'd spend travelling ...". Amazing.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

A guy that's surrounded by expensive advisers and who presumably has learned to access the internet has actually come out with that? Jeeez. Still, I'll never forget the morning that I saw him being interviewed on Soccer AM. They always used to ask the interviewee at the end to name their favourite cheese, a question to which Gerrard answered "Eeerrrrrrr......... melted"

Klopp's not done any research either. He should know that when the clocks go back it's like a free trolley-dash to the thieving c*nts.
They're not going to sit around watching his half-arsed lot.

Saying stuff that sounds like you are criticising the greatest and most knowledgeable fans in the world is a dangerous game, Kloppy...

.... & today an Irish journalist has suggested that Liverpool should incorporate a black armband into their official shirts as he never goes their without there being a minutes silence for one thing or another.

Now ... it being Armistice weekend this may not have been that much of a surprise this time but I do take his point.

However the famously good humoured and well reasoned "best fans in the World" haven't taken kindly to this. Big surprise.
