It's getting quite crowded up there in the TOP FOUR.

It's potentially getting quite crowded up there in the top 4.
Man Citeh, Man U, Spurs, Chelsea are the current state of the art occupants, but Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool are pressing.
It's more than Wenger's jobsworth not to be in Europe next season. He's come back magnificently from the low point of his year, but still hasn't broken into the magic four, despite Van Persie being the outstanding scoring talent in the whole league.
Dalglish has made major improvements since 'Odgson was shown the door but Liverpool are still only mid-table material mainly due to a lack of striker power (even though Suarez is a definite talent he hasn't produced the full monty in terms of scoring rate and Carroll is a busted flush).
Newcastle (along with Spurs) are the new new boys on the block, and I think they can achieve higher than their present sixth place once the Africa Cup is over and Ba & Cisse mosey into toon.
I am also of the opinion - no strike that... I am also of the gut feeling that ManU and Chelsea have potential troubled periods upcoming which might just possibly upset their points gathering capabilities.
So interesting times for bets on who shall be in Europe next year.
I predict:
Man C.
Man U
Chelsea
Newcastle
what do you think?

You reckon Newcastle are gonna pip Spurs? When they've got their top scorer and their new signing jetting off to Africa? No chance, Sonny Jim...

Yep, chance. Despite Ferguson praising Spurs to high heaven, I truly believe that Newcastle have a better chance of getting into and staying in the top four than Spurs have of retaining their higher than expected status (bigger clubs than them have choked). Defoe might go, Adebayor is OK but not shit-hot, and their attacking potential comes mainly from Bale & Van Der Vaart. The Vart is prone to Persie ankles and Bale cannot do everything on his own. The Newkie defence is already good and their attacking potential has just become double trouble with the signing of Cisse. It all depends on them getting through the African Cup period without losing too much ground on Spurs. I think the fixtures favour Newcastle in the long haul and they'll just pip them at the post

They're fecking ten points ahead of them, now! There's only one team who'll fade of the two, and it ain't Spurs.

Ten points would seem to be quite a lot, but there are 51 points to play for and one of the remaining games pits the two teams together.
Put it this way, if you think it's highly unlikely that Newcastle will get into top four at the expense of Spurs, then it's absolutely fecking impossible for Bolton to scrabble their way out of the bottom three. I just happen to think both could and just might happen.
Shoot me if I'm wrong.

No point bringing a camera because if it does happen that spuds finish above us (which it won't) I shall be running faster then the speed of light and will be just a blur because of the sheer embarrassment that comes of wearing a spurs scarf.

Think you have a max of four, and three countries have four. Traditionally England, Italy and Spain, though I think Bayern's Champions League run meant Germany nicked one if Italy's. Is all dependent on UEFA co-efficients and the like. We've done well in t'Champs League last decade (think it's taken over five years) so will be four again I'd imagine. Also traditionally wank in't Europa (maybe not this year tee-hee) so guess that doesn't count for much.

I just assumed that there would be four places for Chumpions Lick, never crossed my mind that there would be any other number.
As for Spurs v Arsenal final position, I don't think Arsenal have a snowball's of overtaking the spuds, therefore look forward to the streak GG.

there very well may be 4 - I just have half a memory of hearing someone say somewhere that because we'd done so badly getting teams past the group stages this season, then it might affect how many places we had next season...
I have no way of knowing just how bollox that is, cos I don't know how the numbers are allocated...
(leaving aside the argument that if it is the CHAMPIONS league - it should just be ONE place..)
