What is the Worst Away ground you have been to?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Prenton Park was pretty dire last time I was there. Wading through about 4" of p*ss under their new stand.

Stoke's old place. Not as bad a structure as some others, but a very, very scary place with fans who redefined "knuckle draggers".

I have never been to the old, or the new Den, but I can only assume it was this, with knobs on.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Have you read in a previous post how my mate and myself were well and truly T*atted on the car park behind the old Victoria ground? Got on the wrong coach. Oops..

I'm halfway through writing a piece that I started some time ago about my day at the old Den, I'll try and finish it. Though yes, a visit to the old Victoria ground was a similar experience. Went there when we played them in an evening game (Adi Davison got sent off so Shilton played in goal). Don't ever recall clinging so closely to the Coppers for the walk back to the car since.

Was this the game when Blake got sent off for supposedly punching someone .... & it snowed heavily through the second half ?

I know some (not knuckle gragging) minor directors at Stoke, so usually get wined & dined. Of course this lot are quite civilised, but even from the Directors Box the odd-balls are close.

Nah, was the Reading play-off year. Is it my memory playing tricks on me, or did we actually finish that season like a bunch of cretins?

The Stoke on when it was snowing (we lost 0-2 iirc) was when I got a brick bounced off the back of my car. Hated them bastids ever since.

Springfield park had to be the worst, although I remember wading through about a foot of pi55 in the bogs at Southamptons Dell and watching us win the last game of the season at Northampton where there were only 3 sides to the ground.

Was down at the old Fellowes Park, Wallsall, when a sheet of corrugated asbestos slid off of the roof and smashed to the ground just in front of us - there by the grace of god that no-one happened to be stood there!

Other notable shitholes include Belle Vue, Doncaster, The McCain Stadium, Scarborough and The Feethams, Darlington. Grounds in their original condition include Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, Deepdale, Preston, Vale Park, Burslem, The Den, Millwall and Sincil Bank, Lincoln.

The Shay, Halifax. Back in the day. Or Brunton Park, Carlisle. Or Springfield Park, Wigan. Or Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace in the late 1960's when one end was a grass hill.

And then there was Gigg Lane, Bury. Or Spotland, Rochdale.

Need I go on?
