Reo-Coker
Hasn't got a club yet according to Nixon.
I remember at the time Nixon said it would be hard for NRC to find a club offering what we were paying him.
July now and he's still not sorted. No way back here for him as contract was terminated.
I'm sure he will get something eventually, but been a bit silly IMO throwing away what was apparently a very decent wage here to still be unemployed in July as teams are starting pre-season.......

Don't you think the club will have forced the issue with him?

Don't think so. He wanted a clause in his deal that allowed him to terminate his contract if we went down.Bruce Rioja wrote:Don't you think the club will have forced the issue with him?
Club wanted him to stay but he activated the clause.
Might regret it a bit now.

Re: Reo-Coker
Isn't this what happened to him at Villa though. He let his contract run down there and made bold statements about playing in Italy and wanting to win things then signed for us!
Still early days yet, I'm sure someone in the Prem will pcik him up before too long.

Exactly. I struggle to believe that he's THAT thick or has been so badly advised, which is what gave rise to my question. WeirdBWFC_Insane wrote:Don't think so. I suspect taking into account his history, he's got an agent who advises him very badly, and probably talks a lot of shit at him.Bruce Rioja wrote:Exactly. Re: Reo-Coker
I suspect there was a make or break date by which he had to agree to year 2 or be released. He chose to be released. If he didn't action that he'd have to see the whole year through.
However, yes, not the wisest thing but I'd be amazed if he hasn't got a club by August.

Re: Reo-Coker
Am sure you're right about the make or break date. But equally he could have stayed on, carried on getting paid here and who knows another club could have bid for him?bobo the clown wrote:I suspect there was a make or break date by which he had to agree to year 2 or be released. Am sure he will get another club but from the sounds of it, not on the same level of pay he was on here.

It'd need to be a serious income (& signing fee) to make up for 2 months off pay.

Surely not carrying a midfield bereft of tactics is worth something?

Re: Reo-Coker
He ran around without help do much for us last season he's probably thinking a year out with no money is a better option than taking another 2 years off his playing career by playing on his own in midfield whilst injured again.

I can see him going back to West Ham, i can't see anybody in the top half of the Premiership being interested in him.

Now August and to my knowledge still clubless.bobo the clown wrote:I suspect there was a make or break date by which he had to agree to year 2 or be released. He chose to be released. If he didn't action that he'd have to see the whole year through.

Re: Reo-Coker
I'm still quite annoyed that there's been no interview with him as to why he left, even if it was just to say "we were shit and deserved to get relegated, I'm out of here.
Somebody correct me if there has been, I just haven't seen it.

Mind he's a decent player, but nowhere near as good or in demand as he or his agent would like to think!

Re: Reo-Coker
Well he was the best player in a "Premier league standard squad" last season, so either all of our players are really much shitter than everyone actually realises, or he'll get fixed up in no time.
