Coventry have sacked boss Andy Thorn. City have drawn their first three league games in League One following their relegation from the Championship last season.

Aye. Apparently they were two up against Bury and it finished 2-2. Still seems a bit quick though.

As said above. It's not just based on 3 games. There's obviously no marked improvement on a terribly poor season last term, so they're taking action now to make sure the new man gets a few of his own in and still has time to turn things around.

The thing with relegation (and we're going through this), is the whole negativity around the club. Things need changing, new faces need to come in and you need to distance yourselves from the failure you've been through.

They were always heading for relegation whoever was in charge, but I can certainly empathise if they feel a new manager will bring about a change in momentum. Certainly I don't think they've much to lose.

three games in is ridiculous. Should've made the decision at the end of the season if they were going to. If you decide to back the manager that took you down and let them do preseason make signings etc, then you give them more than three games. However, if Bolton wanted to get rid of Coyle I might be tempted to revise my opinion!

Think its more to do with the way they cannot hold onto a lead amongst many things, last year was the same they kept losing a lead and possibly could have stayed up if they kept hold of some. Main problem though is SISU the owners, no one really knows who they are and the new manager will need some luck....horrible news for Cov fans is that Megsons on the list!!

aye - I heard him too... at one point he seemed to be dismissing Big Sam's sports-science approach (after a question about what we can learn from the olympics) - saying that all of that stuff gets in the way of actually playing football... that's what it sounded like he was saying, anyway...

Aye, that and getting in a dig about the size of Sam's backroom team to boot.
