United flashed and dazzled, Boro just kept trying and won on faultless penalties. That's about it, and yes it was a handball but I don't know where "accidental" stands these days, if it's even a factor. I'd feel very aggrieved if we lost to similar, but, well it's United.

The commentary team managed to convince themselves it was the correct decision. Can't fault 'em

So, it turns out that there's been (yet another) change to the handball laws. Because the handball had been deemed accidental, if the lad who'd handballed it had scored then play would've been brought back and a free kick awarded against Boro. However, because he passed it yo someone else who scored - the goal stands.

Seems that we're now concentrating on a UK & Ireland bid for the 2028 Euros. Turns out that the ROI is very similar (I can't see how, but that's what Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham's saying).

Anyway, there's talk of it being a 32 team final rather than 24. So by my maths we'll need eight stadiums to each host a group of four (unless they play them hither and yon). Taking as read that Wembley, Hampden, Welsh National Stadium, Windsor and Croke Parks will all host games, there'll be a bit of squabbling, won't there?
