Noticed some Bolton fans cheering that on today and talking about "Just like we did with Ken" and other bollocks.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 12:30 pmEverton directors not attending today's match due to a "credible threat to their safety" world's gone mad.

I’d have taken one of them too. We have United at home next weekend….Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 4:04 pmThey're only one point adrift of City...you might have been better with the draw...Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 3:56 pmFound myself cheering a United goal today. I feel dirty.

Someone has strapped a phone with a porn ring tone to the MotD set for the FA Cup game on BBC One and kept texting the phone during the broadcast.
Have to say, that's genius from some wanker. The number of complaints they will get will be horrendous.

Spurs being spursy again tonight. Even had gooners willing them on for once! Bottlers!
Re: Tonight's Football
If they'd won, you'd have won at the weekend.
But now it's got peak choke written all over it.
Can't believe I'm bringing myself to want that lot to win, but here we are.

Can't bring myself to type it. But I live 2 mins from the Emirates and it's been awful.

Re: Tonight's Football
I would have thought most neutrals would rather see a young side that’s not made of money win the league then money bags City again but there we go? I’m obviously biased!
Re: Tonight's Football
Give me another 5 miles distance and maybe. Though I have no animosity towards City. Your lot or either set of red bastards would be tricky.

You're third in net spend over the past 5 years. City are 10th.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:49 ama young side that’s not made of money win the league then money bags City

They would. We were all delighted for Leicester. You set of gobshites (present company excepted ) constantly bleating about "the right way to play football," much rather City. They've been, where we've been, as in down through Divisions...Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:49 amI would have thought most neutrals would rather see a young side that’s not made of money win the league then money bags City again but there we go? Re: Tonight's Football
Maybe it depends who you hang out with/ work with but I don’t know any arsenal fans bleating about ‘the right way to play football’. Frankly we could win the lead with scabby 1-0 messy wins a la George Graham’s era and I’d still be over the moon. Don’t think it will happen but I’m not fussed how we win it if we didWorthy4England wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 2:31 pmThey would. We were all delighted for Leicester. Recent list of richest clubs below. We are nowhere near City, even Spurs are above us, hardly poor I grant you but can’t afford to pay out as much as others on fees or wages. We just lost Mudryk to Chelsea as couldn’t/wouldn’t match their offered fee and wages. We have spent out recently on a few players but equally have a lot of cheap and home grown talent too.

Re: Tonight's Football
They have more money than you. You are throwing a lot more at transfers. Their wage spend is higher, but you've been dreadful at player trading, rather than not spending. Loads of money out, very little coming back.
Like I say, third for net spend behind Chelsea and Utd. City are 10th.

Re: Tonight's Football
City have spent more on transfers then us in the past 5 years, £616.96m to our £563.77m. They have just been better at selling then us - so we aren’t throwing a lot more at transfers then them, they are just better at getting money back selling. One of the reasons we have less money then them - which is all I claimed?! City have, and spend, more money then us. Obviously it’s all relative as both spend stupid amounts compared to most others but I stand by what I said. City go out and buy who they want. We don’t do that. See Mudryk. Too expensive, so we’ve gone for Trossard instead.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 7:26 pmThey have more money than you. You are throwing a lot more at transfers. Anyway, I have no expectation we will win the league. We don’t have the strength in depth that City have, so I’m sure you’ll all be over the moon when they win it yet again but I’m allowed to enjoy the ride whilst it’s happening!

Yes, you are. Your net transfer spend is higher than theirs. It's not complicated.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 7:42 pmCity have spent more on transfers then us in the past 5 years, £616.96m to our £563.77m. They've not been as far beyond you (and everyone else) as they have because of spending, they've just been run vastly better. Same with Liverpool. They've not spent loads, but they've just been much better run.
The idea that people should support Arsenal because they've not spent money is false.
It'd have to be "Support us because we've been unable to run a football club"...which is less than appealing.
On that basis we'd all still be cheering for Ken Anderson.

Re: Tonight's Football
I disagree but am not going to keep arguing it, I don’t give a monkeys who you’d rather win the league and I'm sure you don’t care that much as a Bolton fan either. I’m not saying anyone ‘should’ support us, but it’s not a controversial view to think that lots of neutrals would rather someone different to City winning the league to make the season more interesting, be that us, United, even Newcastle.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 8:23 pmYes, you are. United?!?! As in, the team with 13? Prem titles? No thanks. Relegation would be decent...
